Danny's job is watch after the team first. He saw Ray was hurt and hurtin the teams chances, and it appeared to him ray wasn't going to be any help in the forseeable future , being old and needing more surgery. Alot of money tied up in somebody that can help the team win and is struggling. It was mid season and He did his duty to the organization to try and improve the Celtics chances , by moving Ray. An unpoplar task , but one that is his call to make.
If Ray was 25 years old...then it was another matter, but Danny thought it was the right think to do at the time, instead of sitting on his hands and watching us lose.
Ray should know by now , NBA is business, and not took it personal , surely he has got to realize this at 37.
I think , the BEST thing would have to let the deal go though , make the trade , better or worse, then it would done and this long drawn out scene with him leaving ugly wouldn't have unfolded. It would have been better off to done the trade.
Why was it stopped?
