can we still beat them?

if everyone is healthy, next year we'll have:
AB + Green + Terry + Sullinger - Ray
Heat will have:
Ray + Bosh

Pierce and KG will be one year older, so is D Wade. We still won't have home court advantage.

I think it's 50-50, but you never know, the heat is the same team with enhancement, but the Celtics will be very different, I'm not feeling confident..

I think we can forget the prospect of winning the NBA Championship anytime soon. It's not like we couldn't still do it, but we'd have to go through the Heat every single time. The Heat are, sadly, the best team in the NBA for years to come if they keep upgrading their roster with players like Ray Allen.

This is a disaster. Now that Ray is there to carry Lebron's bags Bron will just be that much more fresh for each game

I don't think Ray is a much upgrade over Mike Miller and James Jones. I can see him playing a similar role, maybe better shooter but that's it. I don't think he will bring other dimension in their game except spacing.

Not likely.   Hmmmm.   Replace younger shooters with an aging vet who can't create his own shot nor play D.  Ray was injured last year, he had a great start but he was starting to break down before the bone spurs.   I loved his shot but hated his ballhandling.   His D was ok on some but there was some physical decline.   I knew we should have traded him at the deadline.

All Ray has left is his spot up jumper.  It's still deadly but if you run if off of his spot he struggles.  His defense has slipped a whole lot and his ball handling was never very good.

More spacing for Lebron and DWade isn't much other than a recipe for disaster for the opposing team.

Totally agree with this.
