At this point of carrer, I'd take JET over Ray anytime

I can't say I'm too dissapointed with Ray leaving, especially after we got the JET deal done. Ray is a pure shooter, with limited offensive game otherwise, especially when he's hurt(2012 playoffs etc.). JET is faster, basicly as good of a shooter as amy other player in the NBA and a great scorer in general. Absolute spark, if we plan to use him as a 6th man.
Also, I am pretty sceptical about Ray's ankles, and I think the Heat too a bit of a risk signing him.
I thank Ray for his 5 year tenure in Green, but it is time for him to move on. I must admit, I'm not a big fan of shooter. I was so angry at Ray, and I really tought he was one of the guys to blame for the second time we faced Lakers in the Finals. He killed them in game 3 or 4, I think, when he knocked down like 9 3pters. But after that game he went 0-21 or something like that. I do understand the "keep shooting theory" but, you gotta get some easy ones first to get your confidence and to adjust your aim if it's not going down. After that year I can't say I was his fan anymore. I do know he was killing it again, making stellar numbers in FG, 3PT, FT's but when the playoffs start, he usually played bad and then made some critical shots to make up for it.
All in all, goodbye Ray, but we got the JET now

I agree but we still need to sign MP back. Jet, jeff green, MP, and sullinger being our first 4 off the bench? Even without ray that's a championship bench.

I think its apparent ray was getting squeezed over but not oout.  He coulda still been significant, but apperently he still wants to be the man.

Anyone that watched the Celtics closely over the past few seasons could see that when they went to the "watch Ray run back and forth for 20 seconds" offense everything fell apart and the offense went stagnant. Bradley's speed and cutting ability (or willingness to cut) completely changed the structure of the offense and in some ways took away the burden that sometimes came along with "making sure Ray Allen got his shots."

Ray Allen is the greatest three point shooter of all time, he's one of my favorite players of all time. But the 36 year old version of Ray Allen doesn't fit in with what I want the Celtics to look like going forward.

I agree there will be benefits to have five guys who can create their own shot.

I agree completely. The reason it hurts so bad is because it's Miami. If it was anybody else we wouldn't care nearly as much.

Losing ray doesn't hurt us that bad on the basketball court that much as Terry is just a superior player who will fit in great and has zero qualms about coming off the bench.

As I said last night, the biggest blow to ray signing elsewhere is in the business sense, we can't go over the cap to sign other players but we can our own (ala ray Allen) we basically just watch 6 mill vanish into thin air.

If RA was asking for 27 million over 3 years, he wasn't serious about coming back.  The Cs have his (slightly) younger replacement who has also played for a chapmionship team and can more easily get his own shot off. 

I understand why people are upset with RA leaving, but I predict by the end of next year RA will be sitting in streetclothes at the end of Miami's bench with some sort of injury.
