I don't care how you try to spin it.  I will remember Ray for providing a ton of great moments, but IMO he will be viewed as a major contributor to a great era, as opposed to being a true CELTIC.  I'm not bashing Ray because it's not necessarily a bad thing.  It's more the fact that Ray seems to be somewhat of an isolated person.  KG, Paul, and Doc will share a much stronger relationship when we look back on this era.

I appreciate Ray for being a true professional, but I think we will view his legacy on its own merits instead of grouping him with a particular team.

Does anyone feel like he will be anything more than a sidenote with Miami?  I'm sure he will go about his business as usual and isolate himself.

It's not so much of a bad thing.  Just more an interesting realization as we look back on Ray's career.  Ray's attitude is a gift and a curse.  It allows him to perform consistently wherever he goes, but at the same time it prevents him from truly immersing himself with his teammates.

As Bill Russel once said: "For most of us, it is an honor to be remembered as a true Celtic."

Ray is a selfish Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. with no Celtic Pride.
Celtics fan in Houston.

Ray is a selfish **** with no Celtic Pride.

He was an UFA. He had no obligation to the Celtics whatsoever.

I agree that his place amongst the all time greats in Celtics history has been pretty much eliminated, but he was a joy to watch during his time as a Celtic.
Yup

Agreed. I don't care how many rings he wins in Miami.
