can we 1. afford him 2. is he interested?

That we don't know. But let's look at it again.

Can we afford him? Well if we give the 2 years/12 million that were gonna give Ray then I guess. Of course the Warriora can match but still it's an offer.

Is he interested? I don't know, but we could make a good pitch.

We can't give him the $12 million we would have given Ray, unless I'm forgetting about him being on the roster last year.

Pietrus.

But is Michael Redd possible? I know he's coming off injury (as usual) but would he be willing to sign for the vetmin/BAE?

Now that Ray has Benedict Arnolded his way out of town, one of the bigger guards who are having trouble scaring up a long term deal should be salivating about a one year showcase in Bosont, a la Bass, to build up value.

JR Smith is contemplating a one year deal with the Knicks at $2.8m.   If I'mm Boston, I try to jump into the mix on this talented but immature big wing.

Smith put up eFG%s of 55.7, 57.8, and 54.1 in three consecutive years in Denver, before losing shot selection discipline the past three seasons (49.1. 51.4, 49%).  Doc should be able to coach this guy up.

Smith has good size, good athleticism, and is a good three point shooter - 36.9% for his career. He'd be excellent running the floor with Rondo.

LOL that money can only go to Kristic and Green I think... all I know is it is USELESS b/c we can't use it on anyone else! We have "NO money", all we have is BAE and Vet Min.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Right.  The intent behind the way the rules are written is to prevent teams from being penalized simply by trying to re-sign their own guys.  Ainge is pushing hard on this strategy precisely because there is no money to sign free agents, with the exception of the MLE and BAE this year.  Terry got the MLE so now there's only the BAE to use.
