I have read some truly ridiculous posts about this in the past few days. Yes I'm a die-hard Celtics fan, but I am also a fan of the game - just because Ray goes somewhere (that is likely in his best interest), it doesn't erase the BIG memories he's created here and the work he put in to help win us a title and nearly secure a second.

Time to grow up kids.

Thank you Ray - You bet I will be there at the first Heat @ Celtics game this fall and I will stand up and applaud you even if I'm the only one

If he goes to the heat for half the money to back up Wade, he's dead to me.

If he's angry at Rondo, then Ray is the one who needs to "grow up".

My friends here in Seattle are rooting for Ray to sign with the Heat.  They see it as another road block to the Thunder winning a title (their nightmare).  They see Ray signing with Miami as a hat tip to his fans in Seattle.  They don't consider the Celtics to be a legitimate contender anymore.  It's all Bron vs Durant at this point... they are just glad he's siding with the good guys.

I agree with that - and I also think that if he's "mad" at DA and crew for trying to trade him, that he should let that go too. I always hear all of this and that about him being a true professional, so the business-side of the league shouldn't phase him. Either way, people take this way too personally. You guys don't know him and you aren't him. I may not like his decision (along with many others), but that doesn't erase the excellent mark he left on our franchise

They are going to get a wake-up call named the LA Lakers. Also, a shorthanded celtics team was [dang] close to beating the heat.

True... I saw the Lakers as a serious threat even before they brought in Nash.  I think Mike Brown must be a horrible coach if he can't get a team with two of the top 5 big men in the game into the WCF.

Nope, I will not applaud allen...i thank him for the 5 great years he gave us...but spurning KG/Pierce to go ride the coat-tails of Lebron/Wade just makes him a mercenary to me.

Allen better be ready to be viewed in the class of guys like Johnny Damon in boston...

Exactly, this isn't just about him leaving. This is about him leaving to our biggest rival in the east right after being eliminated by them in 7 games and taking less money to play the same role he would be playing here and you wanna applaud him? You do that, but im not.

Agreed...Lakers and Heat are the deal breakers for me, I'd even cheer him if he went to the Knicks or Sixers...

look, if Ray allen left and ended up going to the clippers or Bulls, or Knicks for more $$ or a bigger role I really wouldnt care I would say more power to the guy, he wants to start and a team is willing to give it to him

but, hes going to Miami, our #1 roadblock to the championship where he will be taking less money and basically play the same role that he HATED here in boston...being the 6th man

and the fact that Ainge is even thinking of throwing a no-trade clause out there and ray still wants to do this? im sorry it makes him look like a ring-chasing mercenary

Phil Jackson must be a horrible coach as well, he did no better the year before.

Ray Allen going to the Heat would be disrespectful not just to Boston fans, but the other two members of the Big Three.

It's be strange to be able to all retire together and cement your legacy in one city, and just throw it away. Idk man it's just weird thinking he's probably going to leave.
