A 3-year deal, $9 million total. Even if Kidd is a backup by the end of that contact, that seems like a good deal for the Mavs.

Surprised Kidd wanted a three year deal. Already 39 years old.

Next season, Kidd will be the same age as Stockton when Stockton retired. That would make Kidd the oldest non-big man in NBA History, right? Anyway, Kidd is still playing at quite a high level. Happy he is sticking around. I think he's got at least two more seasons in him.

Good move for Dallas ... but given how bad their offseason has gone, I think Kidd would have been better off going elsewhere.

Isn't Terry a much better player and investment at this point than Kidd?  Why let the former go and not the latter?

Yeah this Mavs team has taken quite the tumble since winning their rings.  Are they even a lock to make the playoffs this year?

I don't think so, though with Phoenix and Houston looking at taking steps backwards they might still....

Yeah I think they might still be but this says more about how bad the West is getting besides the top few teams.

  • It's what I do! It's who I am!
It's pretty crazy how far that roster has fallen since their title. Chandler, Terry, Butler, Barea, ect

I'd be shocked if he doesn't demand a trade at this point.

Ha, glad I prefaced that thread title with the "R" word.

Kidd must have used the Mavs to get more money from the Knicks. Wonder if the Knicks will also match the Rockets' offer to Lin, or let it go?

Dallas Mavericks = Florida Marlins.  Win a title and then blow it up.

Strangely it as because their owner wanted to spend tons of money in FA, rather than just being cheap.
