Sam Amick is reporting that if Ray moves on the celts are strongly considering Nick Young.

If true, who would you rather have, Ray or Young?  Young would literally give us a much younger veteran to counter the age of of Terry rather than having two 35+ guards out there.  I would hate to see Ray go, especially to the heat, but sentiments aside, would Ray moving on open some more doors for us?

"Ray Allen meeting with Heat and Clippers. Celtics said to be strongly considering free agent Nick Young as potential replacement."

Allen.

Better shooter

Better teammate

There is a a reason teams want Allen (including the team that had Young this past season)

well...i have accepted it is going to be nick young. he is streaky, lacks discipline but is 27 and very talented. Doc. KG and Co. would have to get him in line

now why haven't we heard anything on jeff green?

Pietrus would be a better choice.  He actually defends.

Gosh, I hope that's not true. Young strikes me as J.R. Smith with even less restraint or court sense.

I'd like him back for depth no matter what happens.

My guess is they are waiting to see what happens with Ray.  After KG was signed, Doc/Danny both said Ray was priority #1.

Less physical gifts.

So would I, but I see him not coming back if Allen and Green sign.

I think Daniels would do well as the extra SF/SG  (5th guard, third SF)

Young is 6'7.  Can play the 2/3.  He can defend and is a decent handler/passer.  can also create his own shot.  I like Ray but oung has a better upside for us and gives us more options..  I think This team is fine with the acquisition of Terry and Young with or without Ray.  I like Pietrus but he is not better than Nick young.  He has more length but is a pretty straight up shooter aka cant really create his own shot.  Rondo running the floor with green, young/terry would give teams panic attacks.  Did I mention it makes this team younger?  If we're paing the same as ray or less, I'd say do it.

When has Young ever defended?

DC is so happy he is gone.

The Clippers biggest need is SG and has already said "goodbye"

These type of things speaks volume about a guy.

Thats how im starting to feel at this point in regards to Ray... Adding Young wouldnt be a bad way to get younger and stay productive. If Ray is really trying to leave, grab this guy
