if he goes to miami it is about revenge and that the issues with boston hurt him.

he wont start there..won't get paid as much..as honestly will have about the same chance at another title

If he goes to Miami, it is because he wants to live in Miami.

maybe..but in basketball sense..it seems he is the one wanting out of boston and not boston wanting him to go

I am not sure Boston wants him that badly.  If they did, they would give him a no trade clause, and be done with it.  They want him on their terms.  And those terms do not give Ray much security, given how many times they have tried to trade him recently.

i see your point...maybe secretly boston wants him to go....maybe the quick offer was just good media play...whatever it might be..i am anxious to see what happens if he does leave...

Yeah, I don't think its black and white that they want him to stay, or they want him to go.

I think they would love him on their terms, because they are not going to do better for a short term, MLE type backup wing.  He is by far the best option out there for that.

However, they also are completely ready to move on, if he isn't happy with those terms.

and we all know danny has a plan if he walks...

More than that, I think Danny has a plan to help Ray get paid more in his new home, while also helping the C's fill some holes.

Pat Riley is home in LA, Lebron is in Ohio, Wade is on vacation. Yeah, Ray is sooooo important to them. Conference calls and tweets will sell Ray. What a slap in the face to the best shooter in the history of the game.

Sounds like ray is really the heats #1 target....

I'll say one thing that I find just infuriating.

This Windhurst report is being cited by everyone and their uncle as fact, as opposed to unsupported speculation it actually is.

So you're seeing all kinds of 'ESPN reports Chris Paul and LeBron James at odds for Ray Allen'

'Ray Allen torn between the Clippers and Heat'

'Ray Allen leaves double-decker in Waltham practice facility before going on Free Agency tour-de-force'.

I hate lazy journalism.

I don't think Ray is returning to Boston. Take into consideration his free agency tour and that fact that he's taking this long to make up his mind. Would hate to see Ray leave, but Miami of all places? ::)

Windhorst also re-tweeted that KG was retiring last week when it came from a fake twitter account.

The full MLE, a starting position, and now Young being connected to the Celtics... I think Ray is Clipper bound

Breaking Speculation!!!

A source close to Allen indicates the Celtics are making a heavy push to get this done, attempting to answer his issues along the way.

Allen told the Herald months ago that he didn’t want to have to sweat out another trade deadline after nearly being moved in the past, and word is the Celts are ready to comply with either a no-trade clause or a trade kicker that would get him a good sized raise in salary if he does get moved.

This is from LeBron groupie and Andy Milonakis impersonator, Brian Windhurst:

Quote from: ESPNBoston
LeBron James and Chris Paul are the closest of friends, but they will be at cross purposes over the next few days. They are recruiting against each other for the services of Ray Allen.

Allen hasn’t ruled out re-signing with the Boston Celtics

I stopped reading there.

Okay some good news THANK YOU.  But still on edge.

Really if we give him 6 mill for 2 years and we have all these other assets to trade if need be, we should be able to throw him a no trade.

Well if the C's are offering him 6 over 2 years and a no trade clause then they're doing what they can.

I can't say that they shouldn't have gotten Terry, he's a big upgrade and worthy of acquiring even if it ruffled Allen's ego or made him think he wouldn't get enough minutes.

Good find IP, though I found the line after your quote more interesting.

It’s also interesting to note that, according to the source, Allen would already have a deal with the Celtics if they’d met his asking price, leading one to wonder whether there’s really anything to the Rondo rhetoric.

the good part about terry is he can play the 1 or 2...WITH ray..it eliminates bradley as running Point as well as dooling...saves rondo...those 2 guys can co exist

Yeah I wonder what that means exactly.  If it means he wants more than $ 6 mill then he should absolutely be choosing us because we have the best offer, unless he wants the more money over the 3 year span that Clips are offering.
