I like Windhorst overall, but he's made a career out of LBJ and pretty much represents his camp's viewpoint. When he says "signs" I assume they are the ones providing them.

Yeah I don't think Windhorst is bad but he's not a guy I'd go to for sources on free agents or anything.
Its just that his sources are all from the core of his career, LBJ and company, at this point. As an analyst and opinion guy I like him a lot, if he can stay around national NBA media he'll likely diversify more.

I used to like him a lot more before last season (10-11). When LeBron moved to Miami, Windhurst no longer covered a team, he was just straight covering LeBron. He's like LeBron's personal minstrel, telling stories and tales of his deeds.

Sometimes Windhurst has a mildly critical tone of LeBron, but (and I chuckled here, because it sounds so ridiculous) I often see that as much as a misdirect as anything else.

LeBron is his bread and butter, unless Windhurst thinks they're make a 'Waiting..3' or they're gonna revive the Andy M show on MTV.

Ive been on edge since that stupid tweet...no more Ubuntu...I'm angry I take it as a shot in the nuts from Ray to all of the fans in Boston that chanted "Let's go Celtics" after game 6. Have fun being just another guy Ray

He does write about the whole team.  And he was hired to do so by ESPN.  I don't blame him for that, seems kind of silly.  If LeBron has the chance to be the greatest basketball player of all time I too would take the job to be the writer that follows his career.

He writes about the whole team as it relates to LeBron James. That's why he's there.

And I don't hate Windhurst or anything. And in his shoes, yeah I'd probably bail in covering a depressing Cavs team (at the time) and go to an energized Miami.

But he's there to cover LeBron, not to cover the Heat. They've got like 4 other guys for that.

Still won't belief it until I see it....

To me, any reporter or columnist that follows Lebron will of course lean their articles towards the player they are following - regardless of truth or accuracy.

I mean...signs were pointing to it raining yesterday - but it didn't.

On edge all day.

Am I the only one that's not THAT up in arms about Ray in Miami?  At this stage of their careers, I've got to think that JET is just about Ray's equal, if not slightly better.  Ray Allen gets his open looks by running through tons of screens, and AB's one of the best in the league at fighting through them.  And, if they're forcing the ball into Ray Allen's hands, that's one fewer shot that's going to LeBron or Wade.  We saw what happened to our offensive efficiency when Ray was taking ten seconds to get open.  Do you feel better about Ray fighting AB to shoot a contested jumper, or LeBron driving the lane?

And...  I really think AB can abuse Ray Allen on offense, Ray doesn't have a prayer in hell of sticking with the kid.

I wish Ray was going to come back, but mostly for our own depth.  He doesn't make Miami unbeatable.  If we can't get by Miami, it's because of LeBron, not Ray.  Ray will be on the floor at crunch time instead of Chamlers; Ray's a better overall player, but it's not like Chamlers has been a slouch in the clutch either.

Everything I've heard says that AB will be back before the season starts.  I'd bet they re-sign Pietrus as the depth option.

Celtic fans wish has almost been granted. Having Bradley as your shooting guard to get you banner 18  :D

While Ray Allen hasn't ruled out re-signing with the Celtics, he appears more likely to choose between the Heat and Clippers.

LeBron James and Chris Paul are spearheading the recruitment for their respective sides.

Boston is able to offer two seasons and $12 million, while the Heat can offer just $6 million over two. The Clippers have their entire $5 million mid-level exception and can offer a third season, which would beat that of the Celtics in overall value.

Maybe semantics, but I'd say that JET fills Ray's spot, and they pursue a 2/3 wing to replace Sasha/Quis.  Vet-min type guy.  Moore COULD potentially crack a spot open for himself, if he plays really well in Summer League.  They seem to like him, and he's looked decent at times, but it's time now to see whether he's the equivalent of the vet-min guys they might be able to bring in instead.
