Brandon Bass signing back means that Ray is probably gone...

Why?

We have Ray's bird rights, signing a Powerforward has zero effect.

If everyone is signed wouldn't that put us over that 74 million dollar apron? I always felt money wise it would be one or the other
Nope, if Bass and ray both get 6 million to start with we'd have 8 million left to pay Green and the rest of the team. 8 million is plenty.
Seriously how much are teams willing to commit to a guy coming off major heart surgery?  Don't think signing Green will be a major issue.

does anyone think moore is going to be able to contribute this season? i mean if ray walks...you resign peaches for the SG/SF duty...already have moore...maybe get nads...seems a big might be a better usage of money

An aside, but is peaches one of the worst nicknames around? Don't you expect him to be out on the court with someone named Cream?

Yeah the Clippers cancelled their meeting with Ray. It seems just to be Miami v. Boston now.

The Los Angeles Times reported Thursday that the Los Angeles Clippers have canceled their Friday meeting with Allen after reaching agreements with free-agent guards Jamal Crawford and Chauncey Billups.

Allen is meeting Thursday with the Miami Heat in Florida, and the options widely regarded as his best are now re-signing with the Boston Celtics or accepting the Miami's offer. Heat stars LeBron James and Dwyane Wade have been aggressively recruiting Allen to join them in recent weeks.

I'd rather keep dooling.

i am just so on the fence about the purdue boys...didn't show much at all this year....maybe it will be moore that flourishes if ray goes and he HAS to be counted on (like AB)....PP said in practice moore is always one of the best ones out there

I have zero faith in JJJ. He seems lazy, unresponsive on defense...to thin...I think Sully has already passed him on the depth chart

i don't see Doc playing 5 pretty much rookies in his rotation...i think sully plays...and honestly I think joseph will earn time at SF....they other 3 are still out there
Remember, Moore as currently constructed, does not have a guaranteed contract for next year unless his option is picked up before July 30th or the end of the Summer League games. He may not even be on this team, especially if Kris Joseph has any type of guarantee in his contract. I don't see room for both of them on this team.

How likely is it that we include a NTC or a kicker? Because I feel like if we do, Ray stays.

If it was Howard or Lebron asking for a no trade clause I'd give them as a GM.

But Ray is 37 years, you can't lose flexibility, if he indeed has a 2 year offer on the table, he would be expiring next year.
Why does he need one? Give him a trade kicker OR a 3rd year with a buyout clause similar to Lamar Odom.

Interesting. If Allen were taking Miami's mini, why would Lewis visit them this weekend? I strongly doubt he's looking for the vet minimum.

Probably because it's their job to have all the bases covered. Allen to the Heat isn't a sure thing (nothing ever is), so they want to have another option for when Allen makes a decision.

They can just as easily cancel on Lewis, like the Clips did to Allen--no big deal.

Probably just a contingency plan on Miami's part, but it does seem like it'll put some pressure on Ray to make a decision in the next day or two.  Although, Lewis did have a pretty terrible season last year.

But I assume the meeting is likely over. It could be the vibe they received from Allen. IMO, if Allen leaves Miami without a verbal agreement the more likely it is he'll be back in Green.

A bit contradictory, don't you think?

What?

1. Nobody knows but ray
2. He is coming back

Those two contradict.
