http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GRFYDWsI9UWe all saw this.. If fans across the country stayed up for the whole game they saw it too, and im sure so did alot of players across the league. (including Jason terry)
In response to this chant, Ray Allen said,
“Kevin was sitting next to me, and I said these are ‑‑ I know I’m biased, but they’re the best fans I’ve ever played in front of or ever seen in my life. They understand the situation that is before us, and we understand it. And that was basically them sending us off, letting us know, hey, this is still well and alive. We need you guys to go down there and get a win for us. We all felt it on the bench.
“I know the game was going on. It seemed like that three minutes lasted forever. It was special. I’ll talk about that forever, just knowing being down 20 and these people are still standing up, cheering us on, because they know we just have to win one game.”
Now whenever we talk about the celtics signing big free agents we hear various reasons about why guys want to go elsewhere and occasionally as well how the city still has racial issues. But if after watching this happen, a free agent, still doesnt want to come play in this building I think they have to be crazy.
I think Jason Terry realized what the city and this organization are about, and thats winning championships. Not endorsement deals and partying with the stars. You sign here in Boston if you want to win games and play infront of the most diehard fans in the league.
All I can say is that Ray had better rememeber what he said that night and what he will be giving up if he does decide to leave for LA or Miami.
