Danny Ainge has been open about the fact that he wants to upgrade the SG position this offseason, and wants Ray and Jason Terry.

With Jason Terry on board, if Ray doesn't re-sign who do we target with some of the money ear-marked for Ray?

I know we have Ray's bird rights which make it possible to offer more money, but we came into the offseason approx 16-17 million under the cap. KG eats up most of that, but some of that money will be left over to go after some one else as long as DA completes the transaction in the right order.

There won't be any left over.  We'll undoubtedly end up over the cap when all is said and done.  I say if Ray doesn't come back, we are looking at Mickael Pietrus for the veteran minimum.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

We need to sign MP regardless of if ray comes back. Id love to have a bench of jason terry ray allen jeff green and MP tho. That's a championship bench. Throw sullinger in there as well.

OJ Mayo if you're looking for a FA that can run with Rondo, I'd personally rather give Moore a shot since he's younger and cheaper and just as athletic.

Leandro Barbosa anybody?  DA has a huge man-crush on him.. He'd fit in perfectly as a Ray Allen replacement IMO.  Plays better D.. is more mobile, faster, and can still hit the open 3.

Jeff Green. I really want someone other than Bradley that can run the floor with Rondo. Plus I think Green is poised to have a great season.

Perhaps a slasher who can run the floor?   Sometimes the jumpshots really get to me.

We need to sign MP regardless of if ray comes back.

This. MP is also a reserve SF.  If we learned anything last year, it is that depth at every position is important.

To the OP:  I think it depends on what we do with Bass.  I'd love if we could work out a sign and trade for Terry with Bass to the Mavs.  That leaves us the option of the full MLE.  We could then look to use that on another PF/C.

I think bringing back Dooling and picking up Etwaun Moore's option would be the smartest moves for us.  Dooling we can get on the vet min.  Moore will have to earn his option in summer league, but I think Danny wants to keep him.

We need a big guard that can D-up opposing big guards, right now with what we have we are going to get smoked by Joe Johnson types.

MP can fill that role. I also think given a full season with Boston that Green could be a better defender.

We wanted Mayo, but he wanted more money than the MLE. So we signed Terry instead.

If we lose Allen, without him going in a S&T, then we only have BAE and a potential Bass S&T to work with. If we're going to lose Allen, the most important thing is trying to facilitate a S&T in order to obtain assets in return. The Clippers (Nick Young) and Grizzlies (Tony Allen) both have assets I wouldn't mind having in return for Allen. A trade would also allow both the Clippers (Jamal Crawford) and Grizzlies (?) to hold on to their MLE and use them on another player.

Danny needs to use the BAE for a big--Wilcox, Stiemer or someone else.
