Thought Lebron matured? He's acting like a little school girl with a man crush on Ray. He needs to grow up. Ray comes across as serious, mature, and sophisticated and his personality just doesn't seem to mesh well with Lebron's middle school preteen persona. Lebron probably planned a field trip to the zoo tomorrow and packed a lunchbox for Ray with PB&J sandwiches and a bottle of yoohoo.  Cs team and organization is business like while the Miami organization seems like a high school pep rally. Ray just doesn't fit there. Ray come back home and get back to work...now!

For some reason, some people started to respect lEbron for his ring. But, really nothing's changed. He is not that little kid who wants to lose his virginity, he is the kid the went to a friend's mom to lose it, nothing's changed.

On topic though, Ray will sign because KG will not sign without him and I;m sure they've already discussed this. But it's Ray's turn to keep us on our toenails, just as we, as fans and team, did to him the last few years. Ray will come back and we will love every second of it. Plus, after all these years i managed to buy a ray allen jersey, so it wouldn't feel right if he signed with some one else in this situation

Lebron wants Ray Allen on his team, so as a sign of respect, he posts a photo on twitter of Ray in a Heat uniform which is funny but also attention grabbing- In most cases, Ray Allen interprets this as the ultimate sign of respect- being given props by the best player in the world on the best team basically begging you in front of millions around the world to join their team, almost as if they NEED him to win their next ring.
Very smart of Lebron.

The same place as those fines for flopping that the Heat should have been hit with in the playoffs. As long as its involving the Miami Heat, David Stern doesn't care about it as long as he can market the Heat as the next Chicago Bulls.

Ray is seriously considering Miami.  LA Clippers are just so he won't be villified in Boston.  Though they are intriguing, if Chris Paul embraces the franchise.  Boston hurt Ray Allen when they dangled him as trade bait first for Kevin Martin.  Then they actually traded him for OJ Mayo.

Lebron is attempting to play a psychological game.  He is trying to reach Ray through appealing to a bruised ego.  "You are needed here, we want you, we will not trade you, come to South Beach".

Might work.


Danny should be at Ray's house with a no trade contract and flowers!

Ray Allen's contract with the Celtics expired on July 1.  Tampering with whom exactly?  Are you sure that Danny, Wyc, or Doc have even filed a tampering claim?  And what fines are there for flopping?  You can't make up your own set of rules and be upset that the NBA commissioner doesn't enforce them.  If you want to be NBA commissioner, I suggest you get an advanced law degree first.

And if Paul Pierce did this for Jason Terry I'm sure everyone here would be whining and claiming tampering ...

Ray isn't under contract any more, though.  There's no tampering when trying to recruit a current free agent.

It's a pretty wild conclusion. The more likely conclusion is that LeBron James posted that as part of a series of public comments and actions all blatantly showing that he wants Ray Allen in Miami.

LeBron can wait til the playoffs next year to troll celtics fans.

As a fan of WWE, I find this comment unnecessary and offensive.  They have plenty of adult fans.  What types of sophisticated entertainment do you enjoy?

Ray Allen in a Heat shirt = absolutely disgusting, losing his perfect gentleman status. The shirt is horrible, ugly, not pride at all in that organization and have me puking.

Ray Allen in a Celtics shirt = brilliant, the best 3 point shooter in the most famous, pridefull shirt in professional sports. This shirt is all about heart, pride, class, history and ubuntu

Battier took the mini MLE deal from Miami last year, when he could have easily scrounged up a three year full MLE deal elsewhere. 

If Ray Allen is looking at Miami as an easier path to playing time and a title, he's as good as gone.  All he needs to do in Miami is stand behind the three point line and take open shots off LeBron and Wade kickout passes. 

I'm guessing that he's leveraging Miami's courtship into a third year from Ainge.  And I'm guessing he will either get it, or after threatening to sign there, getting a S and T so Miami can pay him close to $6m per.  Cole and Ainge favorite James Jones for Allen would probably be the deal.

You seriously think that he had no "let's get a dig in" intent with this?

That's a much wilder conclusion.

I certainly believe that he had more than one reason for doing it, but he's not above a little head-game retribution with the Celtic fans, and not the model of maturity that many people believe he attained this year.

I mean, come on, this stuff goes on all the time between teams/cities, and it's part of the culture in the NBA ... no way this was just some benign gesture to warm Ray's South Beach considerations.

That boat doesn't even float on land.
