So the Nets blow their cap space on Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace- and of course Deron Williams. Doesn't appear to be much room for Dwight to fit in...

Lakers would have to be his choice now right? I mean there have been reports he doesn't wanna play with Kobe but if he's going to make the next largest amount of money 'market' wise- other than New York and Brooklyn, Los Angeles must be his next place on the map right?

Unless the Knicks swing something like Chandler, Shumpert and Stoudemire for Howard and Turkoglu, the Lakers must be a logical choice for Dwight.

It seems that if they get Nash there, Howard will be even more enticed to change his mind and go out West.

Woj said on radio this morning that this was the most likely case now because of the Nets spending. I mean the Magic aren't taking Wallace back for Howard at 40 million over 4 years.
Lakers can send Bynum and Orlando would happily build around him.
God no, please Dwight don't change your mind.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

seems like a huge mistake for the Lakers tbh... I think Bynum is better, and Howard has publicly stated he doesn't want to be in LA. So you trade the better player for a guy who probably won't even resign realizing the Lakers are a hit to his "I dont wanna be shaq" ego and are a couple of years away from a rebuild anyway

Lakers don't have the assets for both. Howard doesn't want to go to the Lakers.

1) Bynum is not better than Howard
2) Howard doesn't want to be a Laker
3) I don't want the Lakers getting better in any way shape or form...they're the Montreal Canadians, The Yankees...I hope they don't win a game ever again

With the Nets billionaire owner I could easily still see Dwight going to the Nets. The owner would do whatever it takes to get him there. They could still offer a package of Lopez, Humphries, Marshon, and any picks they have left. That wouldnt be great for the magic but it would be a pretty good package of youngs for them to build around.

But Howard wont go to the Lakers if Nash goes there, like someone said what assets would they have to get both?

I guess their Assets would be Gasol and Bynum?
Or Nash comes on the cheap because he wants a ring?

I wonder if the Lakers would trade Gasol for Nash+Shannon Brown back from the Suns? Or Nash+Gortat for Gasol, perhaps something similar?

People are saying Dwight doesn't want to be a Laker but if he can't be a Net and he wants to get the hell outta Orlando, Los Angeles is the biggest market for him.

Point being that now he will re-sign with LA because he can't go to New York. Unless he demands that the Magic ask for Chandler+Stoudemire for Howard+Turkoglu from the Knicks.

1. Its just my opinion but either way I think they're way too similar to take a risk like this
2. I know I said that
3. Me either though I dont think this would make a huge difference

  • You say when......
I actually think Howard will be a detriment to the lakers, and most "moving the ball" teams. He is a "gimme the ball" type....always wants to be the focus of the offense, a slow it down type, and really doesn't play team ball enough. I would rather have bynum than howard....if howard could learn to pass out of the double team, and draw out the defense from the paint..he would go to the next level. He and kobe would not work well together......

I think I read somewhere that now the Nets are probably out of the picture, Howard wants to go to Dallas.

The Nets might have spent themselves out of the picture.  It depends on the contract that they gave Mirza Teletovic.

Reports are that they gave him the non-taxpayers MLE.  If they gave him the non-taxpayers MLE, they are committing to be non-taxpayers and thus are almost certainly out of the Dwight picture.

That would be an incredible core = Nash + Kobe + Pau + Dwight

Continue to try and trade Pau for a younger forward to go along with Dwight Howard. A Rudy Gay + Darrell Arthur offer could be interesting. A bridge to the future.

Howard, Gasol, Kobe, and Nash...sheesh. Cmon Stern, step in and stop this Laker madness! Poor Clippers enjoyed one season of the limelight.

He stopped it once. Idk if he got the balls to do it twice in less than a year!
