Ray Allen - Avery Bradley Matchup

If Ray Allen (unfortunately) goes to the Heat (and boy do I hope he doesn't), his matchup with Avery Bradley would be extremely interesting.

He would get absolutely smothered. As good as Ray is at running around screens, Avery would be right on his hip. He wouldn't be able to put it on the floor against the kid. Avery is a worst case scenario for Ray on defense, and I'm not sure Ray would be able to keep up with him when he's defending either. Remember how everyone keeps saying how Bradley lights it up in practice and they're just waiting for it to happen in real games? My guess is it is partly because he's matched up against Ray.

Bradley would probably shut him down. Although I'd rather have him guard wade.

Terrible use of Bradley.


Put him on the ball.  Either against Wade or Chambers. 



Having him try and race around screens and try to get a hand in Ray's face is not the best use of him.  His lack of height then comes into play.

Courtney Lee a few years back such Ray down in a playoff series. Bradley would totally neutralize him.

How did the Heat convince him out of retirement?

I wonder if this will be part of the negotiating at the end of the week, were they say to Allen.

"You know how the practices went last year? Well now it will be in real games if you head to Miami, and the big difference is that it will be on tv for every one to watch. If you okay with that go on, if not, sign here."
