I am curious as to how the backcourt rotation will look if Danny gets his way and brings back Ray along with locking down the Jason Terry deal. My firm position is that the Celtics are a better team with Avery Bradley starting alongside Rondo and Ray coming off the bench and I don't think this signing has any affect on that. In fact, I don't think the addition of Jason Terry is in any way going to complicate matters- it will give the Cs astonishing versatility and one of the best/deepest backcourts of all time. We all know that Doc loves to ride the hot hands, and when he can run out virtually any combination of Rondo/Bradley/Terry/Allen there will ALWAYS be a hot hand. I'm already excited. I know you can just figure out the combinations in your head in 2 seconds but I'm going to list them just so that I can stare at at for a little while... Rondo/Bradley, Rondo/Ray, Rondo/Terry, Terry/Bradley, Terry/Ray, Bradley/Ray.
Please let Ray Allen re-sign. PLEEEEAAASE.
So there are 96 mpg available at the 1 and 2 [duh]
Rondo gets ~35, leaving ~61 for AB/JT/RA. Depending on match-ups, hot streaks, and nagging injuries those minutes will be distributed differently each game. One will get ~23, one ~20, one ~18. Ray and Terry will be thankful for the extra rest, and when someone eventually goes down for a week or more we will be able to adjust without over-burdening our vets and risking more injuries.
