Not sure if this has been posted already but I thought I would share the link just in case.

I am curious as to the Kris Joseph contract. I wonder if any of it is guaranteed.

In the past the deals for second rounders are usually partially guaranteed. It certainly isn't going to be fully guaranteed but he will get some money whether he makes the team or not.

With these 3 signings we have 8 players on our roster, wasn't that the number required to pull of trades ?

Do we still have to wait till july 11th to make moves ?

Because we just signed them they can't be traded until close to the trade deadline.

If by "now" you mean July 11th, yes.

Paul Flannery posted more info on the Kris Joseph deal. It's a 2 year minimum deal. Still no word on how much of it is guaranteed yet.

I'm surprised that they signed them already.  Most draft picks sign for 20% more than their cap hold, and I would have expected the Celtics to hold out on that signing so as to create more cap room if needed.  The fact that they signed earlier means either:

1) They signed for the cap hold or less.
2) Danny feels comfortable enough that were will exhaust our cap space re-signing our own guys, such as Green, Bass, and Allen.  Seeing as Green is the only one we're publicly close to signing, and Ray is taking his time, I'd guess we're either also close to a signing or S&Ting Bass, or that Green is in line for a huge ($10 mil+ annually) payday.  I'm guessing the former.  (Note: I suppose they also could've had a promising conversation with Krstic.)

I have higher hopes from him being able to eventually be a 12th man.   Decent defense and ability to hit the corner three.

I'm betting it's identical to Moore's contract from last year -- 1 year guaranteed, the other partially guaranteed.

Higher hopes than who? Moore?

I think he could even be as good as a rotation player eventually but more likely a guy on the end of the bench. He had an interview on WEEI a little while ago and sounds like he wants to work for it. His old coach said that he thinks he'll be much better in the NBA since there's better spacing. I tend to agree but rookies always seem to go in random directions haha.

That's my guess too saltlover, Danny sounds pretty high on him from what I've heard. Other than Moore most late 2nd rounders are only partially guaranteed and given what sounds like a deep roster this year they might go partial. If the first year is fully guaranteed then they must be much higher on him than they were Moore last year.

Joseph.

I think Moore is off the team this year.

was supposed of been a late first round pick last year. Didn't improve his stats (13 ppg, 4rpg) from junior to senior year. Interesting stat you should know about this kid. If he scored at a decent pace as the game went on (eg 4-7 by halftime), he would just keep trucking along his inside/outside game. But if  went an unimpressive 2-7 or 1-8 by halftime, you will find also he made 7-8 and FT's or 11-13 on FT's by the end of the game.

So he knows that when he is struggling and shots don't fall to instead take it hard to the net and either finish or get calls.  This is def Paul Pierce way of playing basketball.

He can make open threes, and shoots with confidence. Dribbling has improved and incorporated a dribble and pop a mid range 2 this year. Promising looking player that could possibly be a poor mans pierce if he reaches his peak. He can finish through contact. They have the same body build, like pierce in his earlier days , already an excellent defender and rebounder. Better than pierce in terms of vertical leap but not as good in creating his own shot nor has as good as footwork.

knock on him is that at times he would rather take the passengers seat than drive. But once the game gets more intense , he usually likes to join the party. So consistency is something he has to work on. Not very strong going to his left or finishing with his left.  Shot at a poor FG rate this year, but again good to see him stop chucking shots if he struggles mid way of the game and instead goes to the FT line.

Danny didn't even give Moore 2 years, so he def sees more in this kid than many do.
