Ray Allen to visit both Heat and Clips, don't like it! Want him back with the Celtics, then we still got the MLE to get Terry!

Guess we have to wait a little week or some

Is it possible that we know Ray doesn't want to come back, but we offer him a chunky deal anyway so that LAC or the heat are forced to do a sign and trade with us? I've been under the impression that he was not going to come back under any circumstances, so it would be very cunning to offer the money and let Ray's agent do the rest. "We have got 2yrs and $12mm from Boston, you've got to at least get close to that."

Would be great to extract a pick from someone if his leaving is a done deal anyway.

I just can't see Ray taking the least amount of money possible to sign with Miami.  Yes that is almost a guaranteed shot at another ring, but this is Ray Allen we are talking about.  He is not a ring prostitute.

My guess is this is all about the fit within the scheme and minutes.  I think his purported sour relationship with Rondo comes into affect here.  I am starting to really believe that Ray doesn't want to play with him again, because if we offered him the most money it makes no sense for him to sign elsewhere.

Unless he really is a ring prostitute.

I want Ray back, but if he strings us along, I hope we make a serious push for Terry sooner rather than later.

I want one of those guys.  I'm not interested in the Jamal Crawford consolation prize.

Is anyone else getting a little tired of the Ray drama?

I don't think the C's will wait on Allen to make an offer to Terry.

Not really, FA has been open a whole two days.

These things take time to shake out.

I think it's gonna be either the Clippers or the Celtics. Clippers are gonna be an interesting spot for Ray if he signs because of the guaranteed starting spot.

It didn't take too long for the KG thing to shake out.

Or Jeff Green, apparently. We've got a barrel full of FAs that want to come back to Boston if at all possible and Ray, who may eventually grace the team with his presense, assuming he can get over the indignity of not being handed a starting position even though the team was playing great ball with Avery starting.

At Ray's age, Everyone is a ring prostitute and I mean that as a term of endearment. But Ray is also looking for a more stable situation. We all know how much is a slave to routines. And last year was clearly hard on him. The injuries, The demotion to the bench with inconsistent minutes. Playing behind AB. Friction with Rondo. Constant trade rumors. Ray may not come back. Clips can offer the stability of starting with consistent minutes. Heat can offer the best chance to win and a couple of champions that clearly want him to come there. Certainly don't blame him if he leaves

We were allowed to negotiate with KG prior to July 1st, I imagine the contract parameters were worked out quickly then.

I also think we're going to end up paying Green a lot more than other teams were willing to offer. (whatever the number is).

For Ray Allen the money is close 6 per year versus 5 per year from Clippers/Grizz.

Nash doesn't seem to be, neither does KG.

Weren't we allowed to negotiate with Ray prior to July 1st?

And, the hold up with Ray isn't about ironing out the contract parameters, it's about him wanting to test the waters elsewhere.
