Kirk Hinrich looks to be returning to Chicago.
Jason Terry will not come cheap.
As good a Dooling played in spurts he was better as a sparkplug than a PG.
Unless Moore and/or Bradley have radically improved their PG skills we may need to bring in a vet.

Options?

PS Am not assuming this trumps our need for a Center; but is a very real gap. Would rather get a good Combo Guard like Hinrich than someone like Josh Smith.

doolings coming back.  fab melo apparently was told that jersey No. 51 was unavailable, which may have been a hint that 32-year-old reserve Keyon Dooling is not entirely out of Boston's plans.

Doc has a crush on Dooling, not sure why...
I read somewhere that Heinrich was to much for Bulls.
I wouldn't mind him backing Rondo.

a good Combo Guard

I've been saying. A good combo guard who can play off ball would fit right next to Rondo and AB.

We should work out Scott Machado? He is a pass first PG who might make the team. At least a good invite to training camp.

I read somewhere that he signed on to try out for the Rockets.

I think the combo guard is AB with Ray as the starter. That could change as the season goes on but my bet is Ray is the starter at the begining of the season.

Grant Hill.

He could definitely hold the fort and run our plays. Plus, he has a lot to offer aside from playmaking like taking the outside shots (that we still want Rondo to take), rebounding, defending PGs, hustle and running the break. He will be very tall for a PG and that could cause a lot of mismatches against teams. He could also sub for the SG or SF if needed. Ron Harper did well as PG for LAL that I don't see that we can't do similarly for the Celts.

If Kirk was too much for the Bulls I would imagine he'd be too much for us as well.  We can't really give him more than the MLE, which is less than he made last year.  You'd have to think the Bulls offered at least that much.
I think we should accept that Dooling will be back, and if he's back there is no room to add another backup PG.  Dooling is not a  fantastic option but he is a great locker room guy (worth bringing back for that alone) and, perhaps most important for a PG, he already knows all the sets.

A name I have not heard tossed around but I think would be great if we could land him is Ramon Sessions.  I think he could be an awesome back-up PG/SG, running the point and providing some offense for the bench unit.
I don't know what kind of contract he is looking to sign this off-season, he opted out of a 4.5 m player option for next year so he might be looking for a little more than the MLE.  We'll have to see what LA is willing to pay him, they are apparently interesting in bringing him back.

Bradley can start at the two and still play minutes at the point when Rondo rests.  A three guard rotation with Rondo, Bradley, and Allen (or Terry) is perfect with Dooling and Pietrus getting spot and/or emergency minutes.  Keep E'Twaun as an end of the bench, development guy and I think our back court is set.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Chauncey?
I was thinking the same. I don't think he will come cheap though. Also, the Clippers might resign him so we may need to match their offer.

i expect dooling back on the vet min. they've probably agreed to it already -- they just need to address all other signings for cap reasons first, as i understand it.
