Etwaun is a borderline NBA roster player.  He will always be fighting for a roster spot.

Plus he's actually a very good player for late 2nd round.

Again, I've heard people say he (Kris Joseph) would be a late 1st rounder (in the 20's) in other drafts (or did I hear/read wrong). Not a sure thing but not zero chance of him cracking the rotation.

Lots of people have said he would have been a late first rounder in last years draft. I don't know if he would have been or not but he is a great pick at 51 for sure. I've seen him play a bit and he's exactly what the Celtics love in a player. He is an above average defender, can shoot the 3 ball, is athletic and runs the floor. Not a polished offensive player at all but he has the tools to become one.

To me these draft picks can always go either way. They all have promise but you can never tell who wants it bad enough to work as hard as you have to work. He seems like a high character guy to me and I wouldn't be surprised if he's a solid player in the league for many years. It doesn't hurt that he's a sf either, there's a ton of guards out there but the sf pool is significantly smaller giving him a much better chance.

Would not surprise me if the Purdue Two were gone next year.

At all.

Nor would it bother me.

He is a dime a dozen guard...actually he may not be that good. I expect Etwaun to be released eventually and head off into the NBA wasteland.

actually, i thought etwaun outplayed 3j. moore seemed to understand the plays and was a decent back up guard. good defense, decent shot. i could see him having a long career off the bench as a journeyman.

3j, not sure he will shape up to be an nba power forward. if he puts on weight, learns to play defense, then his height and shooting may save him. but again, i do not see him as a central player on a championship team.

as one poster said, both could be out of the league in 2 years. but i will wish the best for both of them.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

the way doc always chews out etwaun, i dont know if i should expect him to make the team

Have you ever been coached before?  This is an indication Doc of trying to get the most out of him, not that he doesn't value him.

E'tawn reminds me a lot of Allan Ray for those who remember. A 4 year college player who could shoot, from a big conference but a tweener that is not a 1 or a 2 without much quickness.  He really does not have the lateral quickness to defend points nor the size to defend 2's and cant really finish at the rim.  His ceiling is Eddie House, but he will need to shoot lights out to ever get near that label. Completely expendable.  Why do people assume that that Celts will "develop " him just because they picked him in the second round? Most second round picks don't make it.
