Soon-to-be second-year guard E'Twaun Moore has a non-guaranteed team option in his deal and Ainge said his spot on the roster will likely be determined by how much progress he shows as part of the team's 10-game summer league slate in Orlando and Las Vegas.

"It's a big summer for E'Twaun," Ainge said. "He's under contract. He'll come into summer league and his performance will be huge for him."

The Celtics must decide after the final summer league game whether to guarantee the second year of Moore's deal, valued at $762,000.

Seriously don't see him or Joseph on this team next year. The C's will keep Johnson, Sully and Melo as younger developmental players and that's it.

Even if he does "make the team" him and Joseph both stand an excellent chance of seeing some real time in the D-League this year

if they are in the d-league do they count against the roster count?

No way the Celtics keep basically 5 rookies on the team. E'twann and Kris have the same chances as Michael Sweetney at making the roster. And believe me, I bet Sweetney is in camp.

Most coaches are the hardest on players they like the most and have untapped talent. Doc and the rest of the C's were really hard on rondo at the start as well..

I guarantee Kris makes the roster. I don't even think it's in question. Danny said something along the lines of "Kris will add some SF depth for us" at the press conference today. Sounds like he's getting a deal to me. Plus he's actually a very good player for late 2nd round. E'twaun sounds screwed though based on those comments unless he plays extremely well.

Again, I've heard people say he (Kris Joseph) would be a late 1st rounder (in the 20's) in other drafts (or did I hear/read wrong). Not a sure thing but not zero chance of him cracking the rotation.

Unfortunately, E'twan is a tweener, and not in a good way.

I'd still like to watch him get a chance in Boston and play with some starters, but not enough keep a real backup PG or real backup SG off the roster.

He also probably wouldn't mind getting a fresh start elsewhere if he is going to be bench-bound all season again.

Hope he plays great in summer leagues...

joseph has a better chance than moore. Much better build, athleticism and at least defence is nba calibre.

Moore had a fine college career but thats about it. Its not like he has anything unique he can bring to the table, even as a bench player. His shooting is sort of overrated

Yes.

The Cs could cut and then have their affiliate sign them, but any other team could also pick them up.

of course it's not a guarantee he's back but I'm pretty sure he's aware of that and will bust his butt in summer league to earn that spot.

Not sure how shooting can be overrated.  The kid can flat out shoot, and I like his handle as well. I'm looking forward to summer league.
