With all the roster openings and FA possibilities, Ive been trying to nail down a rotation for next year with what we know right now. Here is what I got:

PG:Rondo (37), Bradley (9), Allen (2)

SG:Bradley (22), Allen (22), Pierce (4)

SF:Pierce (30), Green (18)

PF:KG (18), Green (16), Sullinger (12), JJJ (2)

C:Camby (22), KG (10), Steamer (14), Melo (2)

Rondo- 37
Pierce- 34
Green- 34
Bradley- 31
KG- 28
Allen- 24
Camby- 22
Sullinger- 12
Steamer- 14
JJJ- 2
Melo- 2

Rondo and Pierce stay with high minutes unless an injury happens. Take advantage of getting Green back with splinting his minutes at the 3 and 4 to rest Paul and KG. Bump AB up when he comes back to maximize his potential. Have Ray still come off the bench at the 2 for anywhere from 20-30 mins depending on match ups (why I have paul at the 2 for some mins).

Although Ray and Green aren't official, I see them coming back. Onto Camby, who has us on his short list. Reasonable price and 20-22 mins at this point seems fair. Hopefully Steamer stays just because we know what we can get from him rather than roll the dice on another random center.

Now I hope Sullinger gets those 12 or more minutes a game at the 4 (5 maybe?), especially now. If we wanna take some pressure off KG AND have him play some C, we need Green and Sullinger to step in at the 4 and fill in nicely. The only reason I don't see him getting the minutes is huge injury problems in a few months or he shows up terribly out of shape come training camp.

JJJ is in his second year so the rookie excuse can be dropped, worst case he can end some halfs and brings some athleticism, a la Hollins. That's worst case, but with Sullinger here I see him 4th in PF minutes behind KG, Green and him. Also with mentoring from KG Melo can (maybe but unlikely) earn the same few minutes JJJ does just for bodies and KG's sake. I can't see KG permanently sliding to C all year again (assuming Camby goes down or is unproductive) so steamer and KG can only log so many minutes.

Also, on 98.5 today they made a solid point. In today's game where centers are overpaid, its harder but far less expensive to draft a center and turn him into a project (Perk??).  Why not take a chance on Melo? Worst case, we go after the big names next year.

Thoughts on rotation, Camby addition, rookie/sophomore impact? Would love to hear
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Danny's got Sully and Melo on the fast track. With two summer leagues and a full pre-season, plus plenty of practices in between games, expect Sully and Melo to eat up all of Steamer's minutes you have there, unless somebody like Camby isn't signed, in which case Melo and Sully get even more time, but Steamer gets a few minutes a night.

This is a bit futile work until we see what other significant players the C's will be bringing in

I'm not expecting much from either draft pick or JJJ or Moore.  This team needs scoring from their bench in the worst as well as rebounding.  I love to see Humphries on this team and if they could add a second shooter with Ray on the team that would be a bonus.

I wish they had drafted Jenkins from Vandy.  If they can get get him in a trade with Atl I be all over that.  Bass, AB, and Sullinger for Josh Smith and Jenkins

File Humprhies away with Roy Hibbert, Ersan Illyaslova, Josh Smith and the rest...simply no way we can afford him.

We'll have to see about Sully's back, but I do believe that if he's healthy he will get somewhere near 12 mpg.  Big Baby played 13.6 mpg his rookie year on a championship team, Sully appears to be at least as NBA-ready as BBD.
The idea that Doc hates rookies is way overblown- he hates giving playing time to players that aren't ready for it. Bradley wasn't ready his rookie year- not even close- but this past year he earned big minutes.  JJJ and E'Twaun weren't ready this past year, will they be ready this fall? Only time will tell.

Our bench scoring will be provided by Ray [or his replacement] and Jeff Green.  Ray never got a chance to come off the bench when healthy- he could be a huge difference maker in that role.

Agreed Rondology.

Ray and Green will be key to the bench, especially considering who they come in for. As for Sullinger, he clearly has the skills but is a medical concern. Could be another DeJuan Blair? He sounded more at risk actually and has made it through two years.

I said last year Doc would need some minutes from JJJ just because of how the injuries would stack at the 4/5 and lack of bodies later but it didn't pan out. This year I think Sullinger will get that chance just to eat some minutes to rest KG.

The BBD example is excellent too. I always think this when hearing Doc doesn't play rookies. I remember watching him on the championship team into the playoffs, he made an impact on a team of solid future HOF's. So I'd bet, injury aside, Sullinger will have at least a few shots to prove himself from Doc.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Ray Allen won't play PG. I expect KG playing most of his minutes at C.

I'd like to see Pierce play ~30 and not ~34, but not sure it happens.

This is too easy.  Knowing Doc.

RR 44mins
RA 42mins
PP 46mins
KG 38mins
Player X  20mins

Playoffs - Vets play entire game cause Doc failed to ready-up the youngsters.....unless there are some injuries.  Then Doc will look like a genious for developing players like ABradley, Stiesma, etc.... 8)

Sullinger doesn't provide bench scoring and rebounding?

Jenkins is a better player than Sullinger?

Like others said, kind of futile til the roster is set.  Also, Sullinger will be playing some C for us.

Anything is futile right now on these boards. It's pure speculation (often without facts) for fun and to throw around to others who are bored/curious during the off-season.

Trading for JSmith or acquiring Jason Terry seems futile given the C's position but they seem to get thrown around by the media and others on this board. Its just for discussing

SG: Avery Bradley, Ray Allen, Keyon Dooling
SF: Paul Pierce, Jeff Green, Marquis Daniels
PF: Brandon Bass, Jared Sullinger, JaJuan Johnsom
C: Kevin Garnett, Greg Stiemsma, Fab Melo

Garnett won't play the C much at all this year.  Our Center position is really weak, unfortuantely
