Quote
Chris Haynes, CSNNW.com Trail Blazers Insider (@ChrisBHaynes)

The unrestricted free-agent center, Marcus Camby, has narrowed his choices to the New York Knicks, Miami Heat, San Antonio Spurs, Boston Celtics, and the Dallas Mavericks, a league source told CSNNW.com.

All of these teams and then some, called Camby's agent, Rick Kaplan, shortly after July 1 hit, inquiring about his services, but at this point in his career, he's only considering teams in contention for a championship, the same source said.

I'm being told at the moment, Camby doesn't plan on taking any visits with teams, being that he's been in the league for so long and knows what he is looking for.
Camby, 38, just completed his 16th season and spent the first half of last season as a member of the Portland Trail Blazers before being traded at the trade deadline to the Houston Rockets for Jonny Flynn, Hasheem Thabeet, and a 2012 second round pick that was used to select Will Barton.

He has career averages of 9.7 points per game, 9.9 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks.

Exactly what we need for our young ones!

I hope we get Anthony Randolph too.

Pleased to hear Celtics are on the short list for Camby. I think he'd be a solid addition.

Nice!

I would love Camby

I would think his connections to the New England area could only help the cause.
Pg: Rondo  / Terry
SG: Ray    / Bradley
SF:PP      / Green
PF: KG      / Sullinger
 C: Camby   /Steamer

I like it!

I personally would start Sullinger in that lineup and have Camby come off the bench so we could have a rim protector in there at all times . Hope KG isn't insisting on playing PF cause he really opens up the floor at the center spot.

I would love to have him as a backup.  A number of teams on that "short list" though.

That's one of the longer short lists I've seen....
Chances he ends up in Boston: ten percent....
Celtics fan for life.

I'd think that that's the same as the chances he'll end up on the other teams on the list...?

I'm starting to get the feeling that there is a good chance he ends up in Miami with Ray Allen :(

Please prove me wrong Danny! Sign em both!

I would love Camby, but I can't help but feel that he will end up in Miami. I guess I feel that everyone would pick Miami for obvious reasons. I wonder who is offering him what - of that list, we probably can offer him the most, or close to it.
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Point Guard: Anfernee Hardaway, Fat Lever, Terrell Brandon
Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe

That's pretty much the SOP for veteran players, that will had rather cheaply, and want a chance for a title.

I been wanting him last 3 years. I know he is 38 but he can still play. I just wouldnt play him alot of minutes so he be ready playoff time. Reminds me of PJ Brown at his late career
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

i dont see him going to the knicks or spurs. heat dont have money, that leaves the mavs and celtics

we can offer him the most money or close to it, we're much better contenders than dallas, and also he will get the most playing time.

A KG/Bass/Camby/Sullinger quartet with JJJ/Stiemsma/Melo in deep reserve sounds pretty good.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Green can play PF too as a stretch floor enabling us to matchup  with virtually and front court in the NBA . Still lacking bulky 7 footer though if by any chance we met the Lakers in the Finals...
