By now my dislike on the ideal to go after JSmith is well documented.  My main issue is that JSmith reminds me of AWalker....and not in a good way.

I couldn't stand AWalker shot selection and I can see JSmith frustating Cs fans all over again...on the same issue.

Now if we can get him for say....less than the MLE, then I might be persuaded about letting him shoot a 3pointer once in a while IN THE FIRST QUARTER ONLY!

...then again, maybe not.  I still have AW after taste in my mouth.  >:(

Smith is way more physically gifted. Plus, Walker never played with a veteran crew, coach, or PG like Smith would play here. I liken Rondo turning Smith into what Nash made Amare into in Phoenix.

I don't see it.  Both had poor shot selection, but outside of that, I don't think they had similar games.

If anyone believes that Antoine Walker had a similar game to Josh Smith has never watched the Atlanta Hawks play...two very very different players.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Antoine Walker, in his prime, was one of the premier point forwards. He didn't have the jumping ability that Smith does, but his quickness and dribbling were pretty great for a forward. Neither of them have phenomenal shot selection, but Antoine was led to believe his shot selection was okay and the Celtics did pretty well with Pierce and him [only] leading the way.

Anyone that says that Josh Smith is a 'lot' better is nuts. They see that he is a good passer like Antoine, but with a lot more athleticism. The lack of respect Antoine gets on this site is unbelievable.
