If so why i haven't read about any news that Danny is trying hard to keep Ray?

I know Miami, Memphis and Phoenix are all crazy about him. Shouldn't the Celtics do something to persuade Ray to stay, instead of just assuming he's gone and start pursing other SGs?

Once KG's contract is done, surely Ray is the next priority? Or does Danny just want him to leave? If I were Ray, in this situation I would go anywhere except Boston, why would I want to stay somewhere I'm not wanted anymore?

It breaks my heart to see Celtics prefer underachievers like Mayo and Nick Young to Ray. Even Memphis grizzlies agrees Ray is better than Mayo.

They're apparently offering him $12 million over two years, more than Memphis and Miami are offering. I'm not sure what else you'd be looking for at this point in terms of trying hard enough.
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Point Guard: Anfernee Hardaway, Fat Lever, Terrell Brandon
Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe

Yea, Ainge called him last night, said he is our #1 priority,  and we are reportedly offering him more money than anyone else. I would say that we are trying hard to keep him.

We need to offer him a No-Trade clause. I think that is what he really wants.

Ainge and Doc want Ray stay in Boston, go Ray, stay, stay with KG and PP.

I think 12 millions 2 years is reasonable, is Ray Allen, I´m sure that Mayo, Terry, Crawford would be more expensive than Ray, and Ray Allen in good shape is the best shooting guard for the C´s in the playoffs, although he´s 37, but is Ray Allen.

 Ray stay, one more run¡¡¡

Ray Allen with 37 years is better than Mayo, Crawford, Young, please..., he´s best shooting guard in the league, and best three point all of time with Reggie Miller.

Maybe not, but Ray Allen + whoever we sign with the MLE probably will be better than those guys.

I really like Ray but I would be interested to see what this team looks like without him next season.

PG: Rondo, Dooling
SG: Bradley, Pietrus
SF: Pierce, Jeff Green

The size, quickness and defensive ability of that group of perimeter players is very intriguing to me. I won't be heartbroken if Ray doesn't come back.

I would say Jeff Green is the next priority, but I'm sure Danny can handle multiple negotiations at the same time.

Either Ray makes you better than the alternative outcomes or he doesn't.  The choices seem to be the following:

(1) Ray plus the MLE to use on someone else or
(2) A minimum salary scrub plus the MLE to get a replacement
(3) We have a replacement already
(4) We don't need a replacement or his skill set
(5) We'll buy a replacement in free agency after renouncing our free agents.

Option 5 is out if DA is to be be believed and we're not renouncing our free agents.  Based on the Cs being linked with a bunch of SGs in case Ray leaves and their trying to re-sign him ,it appears that options 3 and 4 are out also because DA has made the determination that we don't have a replacement and we do need a replacement for Ray's skill set.  That leaves options 1 with Ray and option 2 where we try to get some one like Terry.

From the Cs' perspective,  Option 1: Ray + the full MLE is better than Option 2: a scrub and using the full MLE on Jason Terry (or whoever you could get and it may well be neither Terry, Crawford, or Mayo).

There is a lack of a sniper in that group.

Still a need.

I just want him back. No matter how they try. Having the core intact helps us, the younger guys especially.
