I don't really trust Broussard, but $6 million per season seems like a pretty fair offer to Ray.  If he turns that down for less money (if true), it will show how uncomfortable Ray was last season.

I prefer using the MLE on a big man rather than a scoring guard.

I want a fourth quality big man to go along with Garnett, Bass and Sullinger. Someone reliable. Then a work-in-progress third stringer in Greg Stiemsma and two raw youngsters in Fab Melo and JaJuan Johnson. Maybe an 8th big, a veteran third stringer also (like Wilcox).

yep..he if leaves boston it isn't about the money.

AS for the MLE...I just want someone off the bench that can score...young is interesting if he will be serious and commit to the celtic way...

i think mayo is a pipe dream...and terry isn't leaving dallas...might have to settle on young

Exactly. If that's true, then Danny took a fair shot and if Ray says no, then it's time to move on.

As long as we end up with a shooting guard who can come off the bench and fill it up. Hopefully if Ray comes back he can play with the gunner off the bench mentality.

Even though Crawford, Terry or Mayo might be a better fit as a "microwave" scorer off the bench (they have all played that role before and can handle the ball better than Ray), bringing back Ray is the best move we can make. If we don't sign him we'll have to replace him with someone for the MLE. If we use the MLE on a back up we can't use it on a big.

Sounds like Ainge is turning over every rock. Ray, Mayo, Terry, Young....probably looking in that order so you probably have nothing to worry about right now

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for. I still don't know how it's possible to average 0.5 assists per game as a 2-guard.

If you were the Celtics would you consider signing Jason Terry as well as Ray? A lot of teams went very small in the playoffs this year. We could  bring back last years lineup with a second unit of Terry/Ray/Green/Sullinger/Stiemsma to me that is a huge improvement over last year.

I'd consider it, but ultimately I think we need to use the MLE on somebody bigger.

I said this in another thread (and I think you agreed). I don't mind redundancy at all. I've come to terms with the fact that Bradley and Ray are getting hurt at some point next year for a little while, maybe even at the same time. I don't want guys like Sasha Pavlovic starting anymore when that happens. Screw whether the pieces fit together perfectly, I'd rather go with Terry and Ray both off the bench and not have a traditional point guard running the show rather than deal with scrubs in the starting lineup.

I would consider it.

Nobody is talking about it, but it wouldn't surprise me if Doc & Danny are set on E'twaun Moore as the backup PG. I think they're high on the player and they think he can do the job.
