Ray is still one of the best players in the NBA.

If by that you mean top 75, then perhaps.  Let's not get too carried away now.

Like I said, Ray is still one of the best players in the NBA. He's not an okay player. He's not an average player. He's an excellent player. He's a star. He doesn't need to score the kinds of points that Durant and Lebron do to be considered one of the best players in the entire league. Ray Allen is one of the best players in the NBA, and any team would love to have th guy. I'd be stunned if the team that has him somehow doesn't try their best to keep him around.

Any team would probably want to have Pietrus as well. Ray was the 5th or 6th best player on his own team last year. He's still a good player, but he's not a top player anymore.

If he leaves we should definitely build a monument to him.

Ray Allen is not going anywhere.  I continue to be amazed by how easily people here are convinced by rumors and speculation.  Look at PRIMARY SOURCES before jumping to conclusions.
1. Ray has said countless times he wants to be in Boston.
2. Paul has said countless times he wants to finish his career with Ray and KG.
3. Doc has said a countless times best chemistry in locker room he's ever had, and he loves coaching Ray and wants him back.
4. Danny has said Ray is a top free agent and the number 1 priority after KG.

Danny does his job by talking with FA, LeBron tweets about wanting Ray (duh) and Gary Tanguay has a little indigestion and all of a sudden Ray is gone?  Stop falling for this nonsense year after year people. Wise up before you rise up.

All signs point to Ray being at best 50/50 on leaving Boston. I wouldn't be surprised either way. In other news, it seems like some of these GMs did not learn a thing since the lockout. So many huge numbers for just "good" talent.

If this is true, Ray had better take it and come back.

maybe the plan is for ray, PP and KG to go 2 more years and they all go out together once and for all...

then in 2 seasons boston would have a heck of cap space for much better FA pool

If Broussard is right, that's a fair offer for Ray. If he chooses not to take that, then that's his own thing. It appears that Ainge has crafted a plan B, so I'm good with the way he's handling this.

I agree. The thing is, if Ray is really uncomfortable staying in Boston, what's his problem? At his age, what does he expect? On the Heat he would still come off the bench and have at least 3 guys ahead of him in the offensive options depth chart. He's not  top 2 scoring option anymore, those days have come and gone.

ray doesn't like rondo b/c rondo went to doc and pushed for bradley to start. he didn't think that was all too professional

True. If Ray leaves, it will be because he's had enough of Rondo. That seems clear at this point.

If that rumor is true the most disturbing part is that Doc needed a player to convince him to do something that was clearly better for the team.

Every other player that was with or around the team last year is clamoring to return. If Ray has a big problem with Rondo he's clearly alone in that regard.
