From what I am hearing he wants four years at 25 million. Now if I have this correct, I am sure KG insisted on going back to the 4 spot and I am sure we assured him we would fix that. So that puts him at the 4 along with JaJuan and Sullinger as well. I just can not see how we would pay somebody 6 million a year to come off the bench and impede development of the two younger guys. I may be wrong but I do not see how he comes back.

Not needed here anymore. Sign and trade makes the most sense

He goes. Or he stays. We'll see.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

I agree that a sign and trade for a young wing who is more 2 than 3 is the most likely outcome for Bass.

I expect some sort of sign and trade to bring in a different usable piece. No disrespect to Bass, but most of his playoff run was less than spectacular sans a few games where he really helped us.

He either gets sign and traded or is just not retained.

Who knows? 15ft assassin helped open up the floor for our offense. Late in the Miami series, Doc as desperation move put him on Lebron. And to my surprise Bass slowed "The king" down. So I'm leaning towards Ainge keeping Brandon Bass. But this time he returns to his natural habitat to the bench. Doc can insert him in starting lineup at any moment.

Keeping bass will hurt the development of Johnson. Johnson needs minutes. Be ain't getting them behind sully and bass

I think someone else offers him a nice contract, he takes it, and everyone wishes him well with his career.

Devil's advocate: is Bass Johnson's ceiling? 12 points, 6 rebounds in 30 minutes a night?

I don't think so, I think there's a higher ceiling there. Johnson can just do more things. He can play the same role in the halfcourt offense of a guy who can hit the midrange jumper so you have to respect him, but he can also post up (something Bass is lacking) and will get way more easy buckets in transition due to his length and athleticism. I'd also like to think he'd be more of a shot-blocking threat and rebounder, although Bass' girth may offset Johnson's length. If we are talking about ceilings, though, I'll go positive and say that it's higher.

His ceiling is MUCH higher. The height and athleticism is much greater than Bass' and his jumpshot is on point.

Hopefully he has the body to bulk up. Anyone know a good roid dealer for him? You know, just in case.

I'm really interested in what kind of body he comes into camp with. I remember seeing Bradley at the beginning of this season and just saying, "Wow." because that kid was chiseled out of nowhere. I'd love to see Johnson (and Moore for that matter) make a similar physical jump.

Well, even if that is his ceiling, he's much cheaper, and we can use Bass to get a good 2/3, so I think it still makes the most sense to trade Bass.

Idk man, I'm an optimist, but I went to that Harvard Rondo Charity game thing last summer, and the first thing I thought when I saw him was "Woooow, those legs are SKINNY."

I'd bet i can connect my thumb and ring finger around his ankles. And I'm not stretching that too much either.

Some people are just built skinny, but I'm hopeful.
