The Celtics have way too many developmental players. If Doc is thinking about this he must be foaming at the mouth.

Bradley - still developing
Moore - late pick who showed a little, but with minimal value
Joesph - until he has a chance to show something he's filler
Johnson - some potential,  but not much value
Sullinger - rookies aren't worth much, especially with bad backs
Steamer - old, but still developing
Melo - rookies with lots more questions than answers

Can the team carry 7 developing players? Not and really compete. Even if we call Bradley and Steamer "young vets" that's still 5, and that's too many.

I have no idea how he's going to do it, but Danny is going to have to squeeze them down to a top 3 - 4 and turn the rest into vets or future picks.

I think it's okay, Danny just has to be very smart about the rest of the roster. No more Marquis Daniels, Sasha Pavlovic or Sean Williams. We need to be able to count on every guy on the roster over the age of 22.
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Point Guard: Anfernee Hardaway, Fat Lever, Terrell Brandon
Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe
Center: Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka

this is probably why the Celtics took sole ownership of the redclaws...you can send raw guys like Melo, joseph down there where they can get Playing time and not worry about another team taking them.

I expect Stiemsma, Sullinger, JJJ, Bradley. to be on the game day roster

I don't expect Joseph to make the team.

Him and Moore have about an equal chance.

  • Ashy To Classy, baby.
At this point, Avery doesn't even need to develop anymore to be our starter. The fact that he's nowhere near his ceiling makes me giddy.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.
