I'm a big Rashard Lewis fan.  However, if we bring back Bass and sign Jeff Green, I'm not sure that he's a fit for our roster.
Lewis may be an option if the Green deal falls through. But then again, so may Pietrus, or someone like Alonso Gee or OJ Mayo.

Gerald is arguably better on offense, especially in iso situations.  Defensively, though, it's not close.

Wait, Rashard Lewis plays defense? All I've seen him do is wave his hands.

I am not believing that someone brought up the "fact" taht Lewis took steroids.  He took DHEA that you can buy TODAY at GNC or about any health food store.  Are you serious here?

We have Lebron James having the classic protruding jaw line STRONGLY indicating use of HGH (the ultimate steroid) and the FACT that he had a gland removed a few years ago that processes HGH.

Are we really wanting to talk about Lewis being a ROID-head?  Seriously??

  • Ashy To Classy, baby.
We should sign him so maybe he can hook JJJ up with the good stuff.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

Historically, Lewis has been an above-average defender at both small forward and power forward.  With his injuries, I'm sure he's lost a lot of his quickness, but he's still better than Gerald.  Last year, in terms of points allowed per possession, Lewis was still in the top third of all players, while Gerald was near the bottom.

I'll give you that. I guess Green is more horrible than I thought :P

Like Beasley and Mayo, its nice to know there are consoloation prizes out there if the Cs whiff on Ray Allen, Jeff Green, Bass. But I view Allen, Green, Bass as preferable to  Mayo, Lewis, Beasley ....
Celtics fan for life.

I don't think I can take another year of Ray Allen running off screens. But he's hit way too many daggers for us.

In addition, Lewis has a high basketball IQ. Gerald has none.

The comparison makes me chuckle.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

I say no to R Lewis.  Maybe 3-4 years ago he would have been a nice piece.  But I feel like the players we add (other thank KG, PP, RA if he comes back) need to be younger with more upside in the future.  I don't mind his game, but I can't see him accepting league min or even the 3mil mle.

I don't see R Lewis as a good trade chip in a year or two, where as Jeff Green or some of the others we are talking about would be better trade bait for the future as well.  I think J Green gives us more value for us, even at a greater salary.

I've come to realize that anyone on this forum could do as good as job as Blakely. His only real quality is that he tweets a lot.
