Rondo, Stiemsma, Green (S/T), and the two recently drafted players (Melo and Sullinger.)

At first I thought no way. But now realistically, who else can offer a better package? The Lakers have Bynum, but he's a free agent next year.

The Nets have Brook Lopez, but if there was interest, that trade would've happened by now.

The only other team I can possibly see is Dallas, but short of Dirk, what do they have to give up?

nice package.  Would you give it up if Dwight's people are telling you he has zero interest in signing an extension? ... That's potentially a lot to give up for a rental.

I'd rather not have a guy that doesn't want to come here come and then absolutely wreak havoc on team like he did with the Magic. Plus, Rondo isn't going anywhere.

Rondo > Howard

Howard doesn't want to come here, and any slim chance we'd have of landing him would definitely depend on Rondo being here.

We win the chip if we get a Steve Nash or someone of that sorts (if chem works)... he couldn't turn down a chance to repeat. If he is fully healthy.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

To answer your question, no, that's not nearly enough.  I'd venture to guess that every team in the league could put together a better package if they wanted to.

And to respond to everyone else, yes you'd want howardmon this team.

Really, I'd love to hear 5 contenders that could give up more...The Heat wouldn't give up their big 3...OKC I could see them having a better package honestly but other than them, that's pretty much it. That's one team that should really look into trading for Howard.

i do agree with that.  And we'd maybe have enough money to even offer Deron Williams a contract... maybe.  Probably not, though... we'd have to let some players walk (jeff Green, bass, Ray, etc) unless it was a double sign-and-trade.

But if you could march into the next season with Deron, Bradley, Pierce, KG and Dwight... you'd have a chance.

If Dwight had 5 years left on his deal, I'd agree with you.  But since he's making it clear that he doesn't want to sign an extension... it really limits the offers Orlando is gonna get.  Which is why Houston thinks/thought they could just stockpile a ton of 1st rounders and offer them for Dwight.  What other team is nutty enough to give up multiple 1st rounders for a 1 year rental of Dwight.  Is he even going to be healthy at the start of the season?  Isn't he coming off major back surgery?

Or let AB start at the 1, start Pietrus at the 2 and have the most dominant defensive starting lineup ever with

Bradley
Pietrus
Pierce
Garnett
Dwight
