The stretch provision only applies to contracts signed after the new CBA.  So, they could (but probably won't) waive BBD and "stretch" the remaining money owed to him over seven years (double the years left on his contract, plus one year).  That would lower Orlando's cap hit from approximately $6.5 million per year over three years, to around $2.8 million per year over seven years.

Yeah, but then he'd have to face him every day in practice.  Probably not his idea of fun.

He is a hard player but Nelson simply is not a quality starter in the pg heavy league now.  Way too many dominate pgs out there, good vet backup.  I however can understand him trying to get out of orlando
