Where do we think he'll end up?

Could help a contender as a role player, can score a bit.

Hearing that Jameer Nelson ihas informed Magic he is opting out.

That's interesting... do the Magic have cap space to go after Deron Williams?

Doubt it, fairly sure they're still majorly bogged down with big contracts like Hedo, J-Rich, BBD...

wow, if they amnesty Turk now they will have 11 mil in cap space.

Trade reddick for a trade exception and you have the ability to offer a max contract to Deron Williams in a state that has no income tax....

Leaving $8.6 mil on the table to pursue what's likely his last big chance at a long-term contract.

Maybe Orlando gives it to him, or perhaps he gets the MLE from a team needing a PG.

Didn't they already amnesty Arenas?

Yep they did. Can't amnesty Turk.

How does the stretch provision work? Heard whispers they might use that on one of their big contracts

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I wonder which team is going to be suckered into giving him an over-sized contract.

Prime candidate for a regrettable contract.

The stretch provision only applies to contracts signed after the new CBA.  So, they could (but probably won't) waive BBD and "stretch" the remaining money owed to him over seven years (double the years left on his contract, plus one year).  That would lower Orlando's cap hit from approximately $6.5 million per year over three years, to around $2.8 million per year over seven years.

Otis Smith is out of a job, otherwise I would have said Orlando.

Lakers could use him, but have no means of aquiring him.

To be honest, why would Dwight Howard stay in Orlando now? Their roster is threadbare and full of scrubs/overpaid has-beens. They'd be wise to trade him for picks and expirings no

Yeah, but then he'd have to face him every day in practice.  Probably not his idea of fun.

He is a hard player but Nelson simply is not a quality starter in the pg heavy league now.  Way too many dominate pgs out there, good vet backup.  I however can understand him trying to get out of orlando  :-\

Fingers crossed that the Lakers find a way to make it happen.
