Does this mean the C's could sign Mayo, S&T Bass for Smith, and re-sign Green, all without losing major parts?

That would be a heck of an off-season?

once you used cap room you basically have to stay under the cap, unless your signing someone to 2.5 room exception or signing someone to the min.

The Grizzlies were willing to give up a 1st rounder WITH Mayo for Ray Allen...that should tell you everything that you need to know about Mayo

Yeah, that's the main thing holding me back here. Mayo is a flashy player to have on your roster, but clearly his old team didn't think much of him.
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Point Guard: Anfernee Hardaway, Fat Lever, Terrell Brandon
Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe
Center: Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka

Correct. However, in the scenario above I think the original poster might be suggesting signing Mayo with the MLE and then doing a S & T of Bass to acquire Smith.

OJ didnt really have a "fit" in Memphis, I dont see it here in Boston either. I really cant imagine him coming here and being Bradleys backup.

Personally, I wouldn't be surprised to see our line up having Bradley back up Rondo and Mayo. Rondo gets 35 a night, Mayo gets 30 a night, and Bradley can still get around 25-30 playing both guard positions.

I'm wondering what people are so low on the culture Doc Rivers and Danny Ainge have managed to re-establish at the Celtics? Players buy in. That should have been evident by this team over achieving hugely in 2011/2012.

do they retain his bird rights despite not tendering a offer to make him a RFA? if they do then i understand there decision because they can get a larger trade exception out of it

Those guys won't be running much methinks, lol. They're half-court guys.
