Can the Celtics Sign and Trade Jeff Green?

I know its probably hidden in here somewhere but are we allowed to sign and trade Jeff? I would like that to be a deal maybe Jeff and Bass signed and traded for Josh Smith. Is that possible?

As far as we know, no, they can't.  S&Ts are seemingly restricted to players who were on the roster at the end of last season.  That means no sign-and-trading Green or Krstic (or Wilcox or JO, of course).

Why do so many people want to get rid of Jeff Green? Guy can score 15 a game, is athletic, has a good shot, and will run, plays good D, is young with experience, and will give PP more time on the bench, could start for him for some games to save him for the play offs.

What better SF is out there, that would come to Boston and come off the bench for a year, and be pretty cheap?\

If you wanted to do a S&T with some one that wasn't on the team, you could go find some one that wanted to play for Atlanta and work a deal, but since you can't do these things anymmore, have to trade from with in, or wait till next year when he's a FA.

Bass,Moore,Melo,future first round is good for a guy leaving next year. If some one offers more, some on offers more and we move on and hope for next season.

The guy might even helps us out and tell Ferry that he will only sign a long term in Boston, so any other team that wants that is out of luck.
