The Knicks pick always creates some great comedy at the draft.  I went to the draft the year Danilo Galinari was picked by the Knicks but they wanted Westbrook and the place went bonkers when Stern announced the picks.  The boos were worse than when Isiah coached the team...but it's all in good fun. I boo'ed with the rest of them and of course had never even seen the guy play.  It's just part of the ceremony.

Based on the Knicks drafting history I think they draft based on which pick will get the most reaction out of their fanbase.

Kostas is a lot better than most players picked before him, although he's already 22 y.o.

lol at Knicks fans... they make themselves (and the actually knowledgeable Knicks fans out there) the joke of the draft. Well, that is, outside some GMs.

The Knicks have a history of drafting bad players. Their last good draft pics were Patrick Ewing, Mark Jackson and Rod Strickland. But another priceless movement was when David Stern, announced the Miami Heat's draft pic and the build booed so hard and loud. Even Chris Broussard was silent. lol

I thought they made a great pick last year in Iman Shumpert and too their credit people were kind of scratching their heads at it and he was awesome last year for them.

I thought it was going to be when they said that Heat fan should have worn a t-shirt under the jersey.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I was laughing for a loooong time as well. Seeing as it was closer to our 2nd round pick.
It was like watching Italians react to a missed penalty shot at the Soccer World Cup.
Priceless.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I also think Kostas can play, but the sequence was so [dang] funny. "Are you telling me I waited 4 HOURS FOR THIS!??"

Westbrook went 4th and Gallo was the 6th pick in 2008.  How were their fans disappointed that the Knicks didn't pick Westbrook?  Were you thinking Gordon, who was picked next?
