Final Tally for the Perkins trade

Perkins at 8 mil per a year on 4 year contract

for

-Jeff Green on a short term contract(Etan Thomas and Turiaf have come back and played 5+ years after this surgery so I full expect Jeff to be healthy again)

-Fab Melo - Projects to be at least as good as Perkins in the NBA on a rookie contract.

- Bobcats 2013 2nd rd pick(top 35-40)

If Jeff Green had played this year, it already would've been a gigantic win for Danny. I think right now it's probably hard to judge, mostly because it's hard to project Melo. If Jeff comes back, though, it's not even close.

This is true. I doubt we'd offer him enough to bring him over, but he did have a pretty good year abroad. At the very least, he'd be one of the better 3rd string centers in the NBA.

It's hard to say with him, he started off great offensively and then seemed to lose all confidence. Either way, defensively it wasn't all there. I'm just saying at the very least, he's another point for Danny.

This seems premature to me, with both Green and Krstic unsigned FAs. Judging by actual on court production to date, Perkins scored 329 points, grabbed 426 rebounds, blocked 73 shots last season. Jeff Green and Nenad Krstic combined for nothing at all in 2011-12.

As for Fab Melo, well I have to concede Perkins rookie averages are well within reach. But when Kendrick was 22 he average 4.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.6 TOs over 72 games in 22 minutes per. I don't expect Melo to touch that. What should we wager?

I remember a partially torn something in his knee, but I could be forgetting the shoulder. Either way, it doesn't excuse suddenly dropping every pass. There were numerous interviews by Doc talking about how he needed to get Nenad's confidence back up.

Even with two of the players having horrendous first seasons with us, it's still up to debate as to who won the trade. That's a good trade if I've ever seen one.

Not even close but I don't feel like getting into it. I'll just say they weren't great but they sure as heck weren't bad by any stretch of the imagination!
