Cap room = 25 mil

- Resign KG for 8 mil per for  2 yr

-Resign green   7 mil per for  2 yr

-S+T Bass and bobcats 2nd rd pick in 2013 for Mayo(sign for 3 yr 7 mil per )

3 mil left to either sign a big man (Camby, Jamison,Diaw) or Ray. I would probably go with the big man since we would have OJ Mayo.

PG: Rondo       / bradley               / vet min
SG: Bradley     / Mayo  (7 mil)         / Moore
SF: PP          / Green (7mil)          / Pietrus (Vet Min)
PF: Sullinger   / JJJ                   / Green
 C: KG          / Camby  (3mil)         / Melo

-You would have a very solid starting lineup. I think Sullinger can step in there pretty early in the season and give us a low post option we haven't had since Big Al .

- You have young guys that can score and run with Rondo in Bradley,Green,Mayo and JJJ and can also create their own shot.

- You have shot blocking off the bench with Steamer and Fab Melo who can split time so KG can mover to PF at times.

- You have the two clutch vets who are still clutch and Hungry for another title.

- You have Rondo running the show

-You have Doc

is it enough for #18 ?

Rondo, Dooling, moore
Bradley, Ray, Peaches
PP, J. Smith, Green
KG, Sully, JJJ
Melo, Steamer

I voted yes but I wanted to vote maybe

-First, I would like for the Celtics to bring back Ray and KG but that might not happen. I would rate our chances of bringing both back at 60%

-Sullinger is a better version coming out of college of BBD. Melo is a excellent post defender, not much else though in ways of offense or mobility.

-Mayo, I'm not a fan of as I've felt hes overrated but Ainge likes him

-Green would be a fantastic addition

So my roster would be

PG- Rondo/Dooling
SG- Ray/Bradley/Moore
SF- Pierce/Green/Peaches
PF- KG/JJJ/Sullinger
C - Melo/Steamer/Vet Min

In this scenario, you're letting Bass walk for nothing. Mayo, if attainable, is an upgrade over Dooling.
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Point Guard: Anfernee Hardaway, Fat Lever, Terrell Brandon
Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe
Center: Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka

Yes I am, and I'm not a fan at all of Mayo. So I'm okay with Bass walking for nothing if the best we can get is Mayo

Letting Bass walk is no big deal. Or S&T for a trade exception and a 2nd rd pick. Etc.

Rather this than screw up our cap room on Mayo for the next 4 years

We have the full MLE, so it's 5M. Perhaps we can sign Kaman with that. Plus, Wilcox might not get more than the minimum given his health.

I'd be really happy with that group. I'm not expecting anything close to contention next year, but Rondo, Bradley, Mayo, Green, and some of the rookies and 2nd year guys is a pretty nice starting point for a rebuild over the next few years.

PG: Rondo       / Moore         / vet min combo guard (or 2nd rounder)
SG: Bradley     / Mayo  (5 mil)
SF: PP          / Green (7mil)          / Pietrus (Vet Min)
PF: KG        / FA  power forward   /    JJJ                  / Sullinger
 C: Camby      / Steamer              / Melo

Not great but tolerable if they can get Camby for a 1-year rental, Mayo gets his act together, JJJ steps up to rotation-quality play, Sullinger develops quickly,  Moore looks like a competent as a backup PG or combo guard and Danny shores up the backup PF and guard spots with competent FAs.

so many ifs.

Also -- need an option of "maybe -- depends on who else they get"

well look at where we got with none of those guys , if we bring everyone back this team got better from the team that brought the champs to 7 , remember rondo & bradley can only get better

but i'd probbaly add another big like kaman to give us ore rebounding

but we have alot of PF'S not
sullinger/JJJ/Green & Bass i have a feeling danny is packaging something for maybe oj & or joosh smith or someone else who knows but i'll settle with oj mayo as he's the scoring punch we've needed for a WHIILLE

Think I would rather go B-bass and something else for Josh smtih rather than go for Mayo. Rather our lineup to look like this.

Rondo/Dooling/Moore
Bradley/Ray/Moore
Pierce/Green/Pietrus
Smith/Jared/Vet min.
KG/Melo/Steamer?

I think that is a good addation of youth and vets, that can run and play in the half court. I figure JJJ would be in a trade. So we'll see. Should be an interesting rest of the off-season. Excited to see these guys in the summer league though.
