I had to share this, because it encapsulates the madness of Draft Night; two twitter posts within a 2-minute span:

Source said #celtics are not offering a S&T for Brandon Bass in deals, in fact they are interested in re-signing him

Think he is history. He was a Nice trade for BIG BABY , enjoyed watching him...but like Perk ...there are bigger and better fish in the sea.

I think Pietrus gets the nod over Bass.

I more convinced than ever DA wants to make a SERIOUS RUN  led by KG once again,  I think he'll load up heavy with NBA vets to persue this.

I think he'll upgrade BASS

This post is great!

There's so much smoke going around on draft night ... I bet this whole Austin Rivers thing is just a smoke screen to bump Rivers stock a little bit (as a favor to his dad) and to keep people off the scent of Nicholson (notice that the C's have been careful not to be linked to him for weeks since his stock started to rise after all the C's rumors.)

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
A sign and trade of Bass for one year of Mayo who will then become a restricted free agent makes too much sense. Danny probably doesn't want to commit to those years that Bass will be looking for. Mayo's contract combined with his potential makes him a very attractive piece for us. That's just how I see Danny looking at it.

Yeah, it's gonna happen. Memphis took Wroten, a terrific Mayo replacement. We took Bass replacements. Swap and life is better.

i think theres more of a chance Sully and Melo spend the season in the d-league so they dont take up roster spots.

I dont think these selections affect Bass coming back or not at all.  Though if there was a guy in this draft who could push himself into the rotation his rookie season, it'd be Sullinger

Unless new cba changed this they still take roster spots

Either way, KG, Sullinger, JJJ, Melo and Steamer is 5 roster spots. We don't really have room for more than 1 more big, max, on the roster. Probably makes sense to carry more of a 3/4 guy like Green instead.

Sullinger will definitely be a rotation player. Melo will be in the D League, but I'd rather he stay with the C's for the entire season. This way he can practice with our team, learn the C's way, and go to KG school.
