ESPN’s Chad Ford reports that the trade that would send the Sacramento Kings’ #5 pick in tonight’s draft to Houston is only being held up by the slim chance that Thomas Robinson would still be on the board at 5. If he is, the Kings will keep the pick and draft Robinson. If he’s not, the trade with Houston could go down, with the Rockets taking Andre Drummond and likely offering him to Orlando as part of a Dwight Howard trade.

Me too, other conference than the C's not the Lakers and on a quality team.

I'm still p---ed he opted in. The C's could be making a run at him right now. I think you said mid season we'd need to make a run to convince him we could win it all with him. I think taking the Heat to 7 games would have qualified giving us a shot at him. ARGH

I would not be shocked if Danny is trying.  The Rocket's picks are right where the C's want to be, and I wouldn't be surprised if the extra Cash the C's could send in the trade could help grease the skids, either by Sacramento or Orlando.

Same here. The media pressured him to stop the bleeding, but it actually caused more stress in his life.

It would be intersting to see how McHale and Dwight got along. McHales a hard nose, no nonsense kind of coach and Howard is a total prima donna.

Howard opting in doesn't mean he's still not going be a UFA next year, nor does him being traded to Houston (or anywhere else). I think Howard is going to play out the string, no matter where he is, and make his splash next summer.

So, Houston going all in for Howard now is more a one year rental than anything else. It might be worth it if they can convince him to sign with them next summer, and going after Deron Williams might be what does it.

Except for trying to nibble on the edge, I think the C's are out of it...well, out of it.

This.

So the Houston package would be?  Lowry, Drummond, plus what?

Sidenote: Sad, for Dwight, that he will not then play with Lowry if this happened... when is this dude going to play with a real PG?  He has never realized his offensive potential because of it.

I haven't done the math, but if they traded for Howard would they have enough to land Deron?

I don't think they're going to have the pieces that Orlando wants, though.

I think the CW is that Houston would somehow clear enough room (if they don't have it already) to make Williams an offer.

Even if not, Dragic seems to be one of the better young PGs out there. Would rather have him than Jameerkat Nelson.

Is Lowry that much better than Dragic? Isn't he talking about leaving because he's worried about Dragic starting?
