Only way Pierce is even close to being moved is if KG doesn't come back.
What does Danny know?

If he knows one way or the other about KG, that will greatly affect what he does tonight and during the FA period.

1. KG comes back =  C's bring back the team from last year and add 1 or 2 pieces (consolidate draft picks, look for 1 good FA).

2. KG leaves = C's blow it up. Everyone on the squad is in play, even Pierce and Rondo...though I think Rondo is least "touchable". Probably, try to get a very low draft pick tonight with a big move. Renounce everybody and go after FA's.

But what if Danny does NOT know what KG is going to do, what then?

my take on this is that if they say rondo is untouchable then it means he is the piece they really want to move.
That was the first thing I thought of too. :)

Goodness this is a lot going on! I will probably be really sad if the Celtics end up not making a move and just stick around at 21 and 22. Or move up like 3 spots. Come on Danny shock us all and get in the lotto!

Ainge, trade Pierce for a young, budding star in a 3-team deal. There comes a point when Celtics fans have to accept reality and eradicate the chant of "bring the big three back one more time!" The Celtics got exposed this post-season as old, injury-prone, and inferior to the faster, more athletic teams. Rebuild and contend around Rondo while you still have viable trade chips and while Rondo is in his prime.

Yea we were exposed... it took that athletic team 1 quarter (the 4th), a squeak by, to stop us from going to the finals!!! The only major piece we needed from probably beating that team was AB, who is younger than just about all the players on their team!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Yes - Give us healthy Avery (not to mention Jeff Green or Wilcox) and some even ref treatment and Miami was dust.
