I think I may represent quite a few C-bloggers who are excited about the draft tomorrow but don't really know a darn thing.   With so many threads and so many opinions out there in the past couple of weeks, I am not really sure who our in-house C-blogging experts have as the consensus dream-fall.   I want to know who to root for tomorrow.

So, from those of you who are students of college basketball and the NBA draft, I want to know whose names I should be praying NOT to hear prior to 21 (this of course presumes we'll be selecting 21/22).

State your 'Dream-Fall' pick -- the ONE player who:

1. Is projected by most mocks to be picked in the top 20 (avoid choosing a guy who will probably be available).
2. Has a possible chance to fall (no Beal, Barnes, Davis, Robinson, etc).
3. You'll be excited each time you don't hear his name.

You can also state your 'Nightmare': the guy you want who should be there at 21/22 who you'll be bummed if he gets snatched early.

idk a ton either but I know a bit... saying that, my dream fall picks are Jared Sullinger, Arnett Moultrie, Terrance Ross, and Perry Jones III. Its possible we get one of those guys though I wouldnt be shocked if all were taken before 21

to hard to pick just one because there are so many talented players and don't want to get you bummed out if he's picked earlier so here is my top 3 I hope one of these guys drops to us.

Jared Sullinger- Very good low post scorer, rebounder on the college level. Not very athletic and only 6'8. He has been red flagged because of back concerns

NBA comparison: BBD with better low post moves and rebounding

Perry Jones III: Super athletic, great size and length, could get up and down the floor with rondo and has a nice turn around J. He has all the potential in the world, but has been very passive during his college days. If he learns to be aggressive the kid has a chance to be a all-star type

NBA Comparison: Thadeous young at the PF?
Terrence Ross
: Terrific shooter and scorer at the SG position. This is the guy that would be Ray's replacement if he leaves. He is pretty athletic and has a quick release.

NBA Comparison : Eddie Jones(Nbadraft.net)

Moultrie is the guy I'm really hoping drops to us, I also like Jeff Taylor a lot.  Taylor has kind of been all over the place, I've seen him as high as 13 and as low as 26.

These guys would all be my picks. Not as excited as others about sullinger but certainly wouldn't mind us getting him.

My dream fall is Terrance Ross, this guy can contribute from day one and would continue to get better. With it seeming more and more likely Ray is leaving this guy would be HUGE for us.

Another guy I just simply have a mancrush on is Arnett Moultrie lol
*CB Miami Heat*
Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
Dream player:  Jared Sullinger, PF/C

A guy who can fill it up in the post.  People talk so much about his back, but I would take him because he has the best post moves out of any player in this draft.  He will probably get picked in the late teens, but I hope he falls.

Nightmare player:  Andrew Nicholson, PF

This guy is a very good shooter and is a decent rebounder.  He has a nice post game, too.  Sullinger seems like a good pick for Denver at #20, but if they are looking for a more polished backup for Faried, this would be their guy.  Nicholson is projected to be around when we pick, but I'm afraid the Nuggets might snatch him up.

I will be very excited if Terrence Ross, Terrence Jones and Moe Harkless drop to us.  I'd love to get two of those.
I'm also okay if we get Royce White, but if he's picked before us that's cool too since he'll push someone down.  I hope Sullinger, Perry Jones and Marquis Teague are all picked before our pick, pushing at least one of my favorites down.

Terrence Jones may have some question marks, but I think Rondo will help him thrive.

Dream: Terrence Ross
Great shooter with good size, athletic. Would make for an amazing pair with Rondo.

Nightmare: Quincy Miller & Moe Harkless
Hoping one of these guys is on the board when we draft. Good SF size and skill set. Harkless is rising, but i feel like a team may take a flyer on Miller due to his potential and top-10 ranking at the beginning of the year.

Terrence Ross, Tyler Zeller, Meyers Leonard, Arnett Moultrie.
The first is a SG, the latter three are Centers.

Celtics fan for life.

This is a good thread idea.  Here is my input:

Who to root for #1:  Perry Jones 3

Who to root for #2:  Terrence Ross

Who to root for #3:  Jared Sullinger

In the case of Jones and Sullinger, these guys were at one time proje ted to be top 5 picks.  For various reason, they have slid down the mock drafts to at least the mid-teens, making them in play for us.  Ross has been projected as high as the top 10 and as low as late teens, so he might turn into one of those "afterthought" guys that falls to us.

My nightmare scenario is Draymond Green and/or Fab Melo.

Agree with all of what you said here.

Also, Moultrie, Perry Jones and Sullinger. And even Kendall Marshall. They're all mid-late lottery talent from what I've seen. Would be complete steals if we got them.

And indeed if Royce White, Marquis Teague or Nicholson get drafted ahead of us I'd be stoked because that means somebody is going to fall.

Worst case scenario is none of them fall but it seems the draftees are really helping us by apparently raising their draft stock. I'm scared and excited all at once.

Edit: Forgot to put in a dream fall/nightmare pick. I don't watch much (actually any) college ball but from highlights and what I've read:

Dream fall (and somewhat likely (20 on Draftexpress)): Moultrie
He's raw but he's got all the physical gifts. His defense is being criticized but from what I see it can be worked on. Being a SF before this, he's skilled and unusually quick for 6'11.

Nightmare pick: Fab Melo/Andrew Nicholson
Not exactly a nightmare but if Danny is going to draft these players I hope he pulls a Jajuan. They're not worth 21/22.

I think if someone falls out of the lottery, Ainge will trade both picks to get up to 14 or something like that to get the best possible player.

What the Charlotte pick in 2013 allows us to do is package it with perhaps the 51st pick to trade into the back of the first round with a team like the Spurs or Bulls. The Bobcats pick next year will be around the 32nd-33rd pick anyways, which is like having a 1st rounder.

Either way this will probably be the most important draft in recent memory (probably since the infamous Joe Johnson/Forte/Brown debacle) I trust Ainge will do the right thing no matter what.

If we stay at 21-22, Perry Jones would be my #1 choice but he'll be gone...give me Sullinger and Marshall

Jones would be a Blue Chip deal if he somehow got forgotten.

Unless we trade up , I'm not holding my breath.

I think the whole thing will play out minute by minute based on backup preplanned choices.

If somebody starts a trading frenzy , with two decent picks we could get involved.

But I'm thinking, probally anti climatic. evening for Celtics, we'll just take our 3 people tommorrow and maybe deal latter.

Royce White, Terrence Ross, Jared Sullinger. I really think all three will be stars
