I would use the Amnesty clause on Blatche then offer the #3 pick to OKC for Harden. Rumor has it they're looking to move up for Beal and shed future cap/tax burden. For the Wizards, I think it catapults them into playoff team status with the sky as the limit:

Okafor
Nene
Ariza
Harden
Wall

Vesely
Seraphin
Singleton
Booker
Crawford

Thoughts?

In order to draft Beal, the Thunder would almost certainly need to trade James Harden. League sources said Oklahoma City would be unable to avoid tax issues if they had Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Harden and Serge Ibaka under lucrative contracts.

Trading for Harden could make sense for a team like the Bobcats, though there is no guarantee he would be willing to sign a long-term extension.

"I've heard it a lot," Beal said of the Thunder scenario. "It's really interesting. I would love to play with Kevin Durant. (Russell) Westbrook, great point guard. Just the whole team. It's young; I would love to play with a young team. They play fast. I'd love to get up and down, shoot the ball. Overall, whatever situation I Iand in I'll be happy."

Fine and dandy, but Washington has to send something along with the #3 to OKC to make it work (unless Washington can add Harden into the Shard Lewis trade with NO from earlier this week).

How do you figure? If they Amnesty Blatche, couldn't Harden just be absorbed?

Terrific starting lineup. Could be a title contender if John Wall can make the leap to All-Star caliber PG.

The bench needs a lot of work. I might be inclined to keep Blatche given how weak the alternatives are. Give him one final chance in a reserve role before cutting ties with him permanently.

Give them Vesely and ask for their #28 in return.

Does amnestying Blatche get them below the cap? I doubt it.

I think the week of July 15-19 is the next period for players can be amnestied (after the draft and free agent moratorium is lifted).

I certainly wouldnt use the word contender to describe that team. However they are easily a top 8 team in the east next year with a young core and room to make improvement in the future. I think OKC would be crazy to do it, but it makes sense if they like Beal that much and harden is going to command too much.

I'd be surprised if that team ever got higher than a low playoff seed.

Nice idea, i think Washington would have to give up something else. OKC obviously loves harden but it might make good business sense. However it's yet to be seen if harden can carry a team being their featured player. He would be their go-to scorer and it's not certain he can be an effective #1 option every night. I think he certainly could grow into it but it's something to think about.

That being said, if your WSH you absolutely make that trade.

Kyle Lowry, Dwayne Wade, 13th pick in even numbered rounds, 18th pick in odd numbered rounds.

HArden is a super player near superstar, love his game , quiet killer , but I don't see him as a franchise player , like Kobe or KG .  He would be a great Scotty Pippen type player to add to a LBJ or Kobe  as their running mates.  Too bad we got Green instead of HArden .

Wouldn't the "Jordan" to Harden's "Pippen" be...John Wall?

Harden seems mature for his age but they'd still be a very, very young team.
