Or maybe just a smaller trade to get up high enough to nab Andre Drummond.

He has fallen to 9th in Draftexpress' latest rankings.
Really? Wow...

Via Sportscenter on Twitter...

Sources say the rockets have traded Sam Dalembert and the 14th pick to the Bucks for the 12th pick. They're going hard for Howard.

Trading up two spots  ???, doesn't really excite me yet.

Rockets are trying to get as many high picks as possible for a big trade.

I assume by tomorrow that the Rockets will have at one time owned every pick in the lottery.

Could the Rockets potentially acquire both Josh Smith and Dwight Howard on draft night? Do they have the pieces to make two deals work?

Kevin Martin and a low level asset for Josh Smith?

PG - Teague, Hinrich, J.Pargo
SG - K.Martin, W.Green
SF - J.Johnson, McGrady
PF - Horford, I.Johnson, Radmanovic
C  - Zaza, J.Collins

Martin and #18 for Smith; and Scola, Lowry, #12 and #14 for Dwight?

Could involve Morris or Patterson in either deal to sweeten/change the return.

I think they'd need a bigger prospect than Lowry/12/14 that for Howard. It'd have to be a three team deal I think.

Yeah, it doesn't seem quite enough.

If they could improve the picks, maybe. Scola's not exactly a piece for a rebuilding team, either. Perhaps a re-route via the third team.

Here's Chad Ford's breakdown:

http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/8104029/source-houston-rockets-make-trade-milwaukee-bucks-move-12

Quote
The Rockets can slice as much as $4.7 million off their cap if they waive Livingston and Leuer. However, a source said the Rockets are likely to keep both Livingston and Leuer to add depth at the point guard position and the front line, respectively.

Seems like Lowry is good as gone.

Now I 'd laugh my ars off If the ROckets put ALL their eggs in ONE basket , trade everything to get Howard ...and he comes back and never gets back to the JUMP to the Moon center he once was.  Thats a HUGE gamble IMO.   Howard might just be the biggest bust in NBA history , if his health isn't back to 100%.

He sucks on anything offensive that requires average shooters skill.

I'd sure want to see him play BERFORE I traded..LOL....a docs "WORD"  oh...yeah...he'll be just fine ( famous last words) and risk nearly the whole franchise on?  Thats a bit nuts IMO.

I think Houston will be hard-pressed to get enough for Howard, much less Howard and Smith.

Scola, Lowry and 2 mid-first rounders just isn't enough for the big man - nowhere near enough quality, too much quantity.

I wonder if the Rockets could tempt Washington with Kevin Martin, #12 and #18 for #3 and Andray Blatche.

#3, #14, future picks and Lowry isn't the worst Howard offer I've seen.

2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Sounds like the Rockets are positioning themselves for a major trade. Exciting.

Agreed. Me thinks the rockets got something big under there sleeve. Im expecting a lot of "we have a trade" intros tonight at the draft.

I wonder if Rockets and Lakers could both get what they want out of Detroit:

Rockets get: Gasol

Pistons get: Martin, Scola, #18

Lakers get: Charlie V, Stuckey, #9

Lakers get the top 10 pick they want.  Rockets get Gasol and only lose one of their 3 picks.

Pistons move Charlie V out and get 2 way more effecient players in Scola and Kevmart.   Scola is good for 15 and 8 and Martin has been a pretty solid 20ppg guy.  Not a bad deal and only have to fall back 9 spots in a deep draft.
