I won't boo him but I won't clap either. I think I will be sad more than anything.

I'm curious about this. Let's say, hypothetically, you're at the garden when the heat face the Celtics for the first time next year and Ray checks in to the game game. Do you boo or cheer?

Personally, i'm booing the dude. I can understand why he would do it but if you want to join the enemy then deal with the consequences of being hated. I don't want any of that "Thank you, Ray" crap playing on the jumbotron. With Perk it was okay because he had no say in the matter but with Ray signing with the Heat to get an easy ring at our expense then that's completely different. I booed Johnny Damon for joining the Yanks and i'll boo Ray if he joins miami (which i'm going on record right now saying i think it'll happen).

Perk wanted more money, so he got out, how is that okay? I love Perk but I;m just saying. The fact that you would boo him is awful, and I'll leave it at that.
Furthermore, he ain't going nowhere

This is kind of a tough one. If he leaves to go to the heat for a similar role he would have here, it's kind of hard not to be a little peeved at him.

Don't know if I'd boo him though.

I'm in the same boat.  If he leaves to go somewhere for more money, more minutes, a starting job, or b/c the celts decide to rebuild, then I have no problem and I will cheer for him.  I think he should do what's best for him.  Even if he was going to a rival team to start or for more money, I could understand that.

But to go to a rival team (I only consider Miami and LA) for same/less money and a similar/lesser role would be a slap in the face to the celtics organization IMO.  I may not boo, but I would have bitter feelings towards him for it.

I voted Boo, not because I boo, but because I'd have bitter feelings and certainly wouldn't cheer for him considering the circumstances.

Ray I think hasn't come to grips that he's 38 and doesn't run as well as a 21 year old. He's ticked at Rondo because he voiced his opinion that AB should start after he stepped in and that Doc went along with it. And at DA for all most trading him. but at that point I don't think any one saw the run they were about to make.

Im sorry, but that was a good move. I love Rays game, but can you blame Rondo for wanting at least one guy that would run in front of him? You need at least one guy that will cut to the hoop out side of Rondo, not 4 jump shooters. So Ray gets sent to the bench.

And before AB went down, and Wilcox, I loved having Ray and Bass coming off the bench. Thats 20+ points off the bench right there. Its one reason why they lost game 7. Miami's bench out scored the C's 20 some thing to 2...To freaking 2! we get 20 from the bench and we would have just watched the Duck boat parade this week. Or what ever OKC would have done, but at least it wouldn't have been Miamis.

Ray's more valuable to this team off the bench. Yeah he could start for teams like the Clippers, and Bulls, but with PP not cutting to the hoop any more, and if you have Bass in the line up, the team is predictable, jump shot, next time down jump shot, next time down, drive, nope kick out, jump shot.

So Ray if you go to Miami, I wont be mad at you, but I will Be very disappointed in you...

Why would you boo a class act of a guy for helping win a championship and 5 great years of memories in our building? He has the free choice to do whatever he wants, Miami fits his game perfectly and if he signs a one year deal he gets a one year vacation in south beach. I would probably do the same thing especially if the celtics were showing the luke warm interest they currently are.

He isnt going to the Heat to spite the celtics. He is going to the heat because that is his best option and he'd be looney not to do so.

I don't care WHY he joins the Heat but if he does then he's the enemy and i'm rooting for him to fail. Bottom line. I'm gunning for the uniform, not the player. I don't care if he's a "Class act."

Rooting for the Heat or Ray Allen in another uniform is not that same thing as taking the time to recognize a former players' achievements in a short pre-game gesture.

Exactly. There no way I boo ray allen when he is announced in the starting lineup or when the announcer gives the little "welcome back ray allen"at the beginning of the game. Obviously im not going to cheer for every three pointer he makes and I will root for the celtics in the games against the heat. But show the guy some respect at least.

Boo for other reason; Choking 2010 nba finals.

Good point. Eight threes in Game 2, and then he disappeared the rest of the series; if he'd shown up even half that time, we'd probably have won.
Well, if you ever get your hands on a time machine, maybe go back to the 2010 Finals and keep Ron Artest from cheap-shotting him with a knee to the thigh in 1Q of Game 3.

Standing O the first time he enters a game.   After that he gets treated like any other player.  No need to single the guy out for boos, he's had a great run here.

Well spoken. I agree. Good luck Ray here or there but screw the heatles.

I would never boo him, but I will find it completely unacceptable if he joins the Heat this off-season.

Don't do it, Ray!!

people keep talking about ray being peeved about playing time. Forget that lame argument, the biggest reason he would leave would be the trade that happened before the deadline. this team had him on the chopping block and it was awkward with doc crying on the phone telling ray he got traded one minute, then the trade gets cancelled.

I would boo him, but don't think that he goes there, so I believe that the issue/question is moot. I think that he  comes back to us for many reasons:

1. we can give him the most $$
2. people with OCD like routine and don't like change
3. he is close to his CT home here, which was why the knicks was one of his choices
4. his child's diabetic condition is best treated at theJocelyn here in Boston
5. have a hard time seeing him switch allegiances despite his anger at almost being traded and asked to come off the bench

Regardless,  God, I hate the cHeat!!!!!!!!!

First the unsavory, duplicitous collusion (which no doubt involved the cHeat organization) that brought the unholy trinity together in the first place along with the Wade rip of Rondo'st elbow and his cheap shots in general coupled with the biases for them by the legue/refs/ESPN.

And now, trying to steal away of one of our players by taking advantage of Ray's ego (he's an athlete being paid millions to play a game. He was the subject of trade talks on numerous occasions, and felt unloved. BOOHOO. Get over it Ray, that;s part of the business!)and his anger at the Cs.

I saw this coming when Allen, Wade and LeBroid had that lovefest on the floor at the end of game 7 of the ECF.

This is kinda like you p---ing off your girl friend , and to get back at you she goes and sleeps with your sworn enemy who was also her sworn enemy.

You have too much class, Ray, to do this.

P.S. He will swallow coming off the bench, because Wade is an established star and AB?....who the hell is he?

Hey Ray, he's the guy, if you become a cHeat, who will be in your jersey smothering you and blocking your shots.

Won't come to this. Ray wont do it.

Booing Ray for any reason, including going to the Heat, would be childish and ridiculous.
If you're going to criticize Lebron's way of handling himself, look at yourself too.
