I'm not going to boo Ray Allen.  Guy did too much in a Celtics uniform and I always found him to be a likeable guy.

Booing him because he's playing for the Heat is just a petty gesture, IMO.

+1.

Anybody who boo's Ray Allen at any time is ignorant.  Ray Allen, more than just a basketball player, is a fantastic human being.

Should have put a "wait for him outside the arena to break his surgically repaired ankle" option.   :-X

Seriously though, it depends on the circumstances under which he would be joining them. If it's because the C's choose not to bring back the gang or bother to extend a fair offer to Ray, I'd accept it (sick, but acceptant).  If Ray just simply chooses Miami over Boston, even though we try to bring him back, I'll be extremely angry.

Thats an excellent point. Glad you brought that up. If the Celtics don't even make an offer then i'll completely understand Ray joining Miami and i'll give him a standing O but if he flat out choose the Heat over the Celts i will be royally p---ed.

seriously i can't say p---ed? Wow. Soft world getting softer.

If the Celtics can't make an acceptable offer i will be far more PEEVED (that better?) at Danny Ainge for not wanting to keep a great player like Ray Allen around. Ray is easily worth $5 mil a year even at the age of 37. It would astound me if Ainge would be unwilling to pay that for the best 3 point shooter in the NBA. Not to mention a guy who played his heart out on a bum ankle and risked his career this past post season.

didn't know you knew him, that's cool. What's he like?

Jk. just yanking your chain. By all accounts he does seem to be a good dude but so does Shane Battier but you don't see me rooting for him. Know why? Cause he's on the Heat.

This is kind of a tough one. If he leaves to go to the heat for a similar role he would have here, it's kind of hard not to be a little peeved at him.

Don't know if I'd boo him though.

If he goes anywhere but the Knicks, Heat, or Lakers cheer him and give him a video package.  If he goes to one of the aforementioned teams just give him his cheer and then that's the end of it.

I'll be a little disappointed if Ray goes to Miami. I don't blame him one bit if he does though. He's free to choose whomever now and Miami really is a no brainier if money is no problem.

LOL!  Yeah, I'm definietly as "gangsta" as Fab (which is to say, not gangsta at all).

Maybe if I'm feeling nice I'll give Ray a "Randy Moss"

He is going to the heat because that is his best option and he'd be looney not to do so.

Not in my opinion. If his beef truly is about wanting a starting job, or at least lots of minutes, he'd be better off going to Chicago, because he's better than Rip, or the Clippers, because he's better than Randy Foye.

He's not starting in Miami unless Wade goes down with an injury, and I can't see him even getting a lot of minutes, even if the Heat stick with a small lineup—which I imagine would feature Bosh, LeBron, Battier, Wade, Chalmers (a lineup of Bosh, LeBron, Wade, Ray, Chalmers would be too small).

If he stays in Boston, he stills gets 30+ minutes a game, even if he's coming off the bench.

Boo for other reason; Choking 2010 nba finals.

Good point. Eight threes in Game 2, and then he disappeared the rest of the series; if he'd shown up even half that time, we'd probably have won.

Ray doesn't want to be booed? then sign with any team NOT NAMED THE HEAT OR THE LAKERS.....He's free to go anywhere's else and i'll still love him. but if he signed with either of those 2. that love turns to instant HATE.

DWade is Miami's 2 guard, Ray Allen would be looking at a bit role standing in the weakside corner for 15mpg.

If it's greener pastures he wants, go start for LAC.  They'd be an excellent fit...

1 up here.

If he is really upset that he got "demoted" off the bench and is looking for playing time, LAC or Chicago are better places to go. Is he just looking to win, Miami or staying at Boston would be ideal.

But I'd want to see him play for LAC.
