He's restricted I think and he's gonna cost a lot to bring here. Extremely talented but where does he fit? I don't even think he comes unless we break the bank.

He's actually not restricted as of yet. Minnesota is not yet extended a qualifying offer and there are reports they won't do it. So he could very well end up as an unrestricted FA. If that happens, I think Danny tries to go after him - he'd presumably become our starting PF should KG return as center
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Yes. Something like:

KG, Beasley, Green, Allen, Rondo

with a bench of Pierce (6th man), AB (change of pace guard), Wilcox (swing big), and Steisma (4th big) would be a good team - maybe good enough to win if everything broke right, but certainly good enough to make the conf finals again. Additionally this could be done without breaking the bank on future years, meaning rebuild isn't ruined when needed.

Also Minny has 5m left on Darko's deal, would they send a good draft pick to the C's in a deal if we ate that salary?

Something like Bass (S&T) + Steisma for Beasley (S&T) + Darko + draft pick?

I don't see Steisma as more than a 10 mpg fourth big, a role I'd be fine overpaying Darko for if the C's could get a good draft pick out of it.

If there is a way to get him, even it means we dump Ray Allen and his cap hold, we go get him. Why? First, He is still barely older than a college senior. Second, he  as always played for bad teams. Miami stank when he was there and we all know what Minnesota is like. Third and finally, he flat out scores. The Celtics do not. I am sick and tired of being the Baltimore Ravens of basketball: Great D, no O. Yes, the Ravens contend but they have won only one title in THE ENTIRE 2000'S!!! Same thing is true regarding Boston. Our defense has been great since Garnett arrived here but there have been times, particularly as we have aged that we have lost games and whole series because we could not score. I would gladly be a top 7 team on defense rather than top 3 if it meant we were no longer nearly dead last on offense. We were second in defense last year. We were Twenty Six on offense. You know who were the only teams worse than us on O? Here you go: Detroit, Toronto, New Orleans, Charlotte. In that order with Charlotte being dead last. Want to guess what those teams have in common? they suck and are in the lottery. Basically we need scoring more than anything else. Period. The. End.

Yep, Pierce will not be coming off the bench...if we have to take on Darko it wouldn't be the worst scenario (see Hollins, Ryan or Moore, Mikki)

He could work as Bass' replacement its kind of hard to believe this guy has already been in the league a few years and is only 23. I think he needs a good organization personally. But if it means dumping Ray's cap hold to do it I'm passing.
