I would have said their direction is "straight down", but they are already there!

With Ben Gordan, Gerald Henderson, D.J. Augustin, and Kemba Walker in the backcourt, looks like Thomas Robinson will be the #2 pick instead of Beal
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

And wouldnt be surprise if they pick Andre Drummond. They need a center badly. That would shake up the draft

Ditto, and I also don't get what Detroit's direction is.

Oh, Ben Gordon only had an additional year left on his contract.

I don't think that was worth giving up a future first round pick over.

Ditto, which is why I don't understand Detroit's move here.

Edit: I think Charlotte got the better end of that deal -- they got the better player and the future first.

This is a good deal for both teams. Detroit gets out from under a big contract, Charlotte gets a future first to help them rebuild.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Michael Jordan is the Elgin Baylor of executives.  Great player, horrible in the front office/ownership box.

According to Woj, they save about $15M.
Gripe and moan as we might, it is nice to have the C's run by a management team that is willing to pay money to field a winning team.

I disagree, the more I think about this, the more I like this trade for Charlotte. They get the better player and the future first.  Gordon is also a more marketable player (both to fans and to potential FAs).  I like the move.
