21. Perry Jones III, F, Baylor

Selected by: Avery Bradley

"Jones has a lot of potential," says Celtics guard Avery Bradley about the Bears sophomore. "When you come into the NBA, the main thing is picking it up on defense. If he comes in with that mindset and comes in and plays hard on defense, that usually helps put you on the floor."

Quote
22. Tony Wroten Jr., G, Washington

Selected by: Avery Bradley

"We're both from Seattle," Bradley says about the 6-foot-5 Huskies freshman. "That's my guy. Tony's a great passer, and he's tall for his position at point guard. He can learn a lot of from [Rajon] Rondo." (Wroten averaged 16 ppg, 5 rpg and 3.7 apg last season.)

Sounds like Bradley's not looking to double as Rondo's backup.

Well also keep in mind that in this draft Bradley Beal fell to #19 or something.

and Moe Harkless wasn't even picked...and Miles Plumlee was...etc.  But yeah pretty strange that Beal dropped to 19.  JJ Redick picked him, and wondered out loud if he has a history of punching coaches or a life threatening illness that he doesnt know about...

We would have to move up if that looked like it was happening.

I do have to say though that PJ3 and TWJR are great prospects for the early 20s.  I think PJ3 is going to sit on the bench all year, but if he could reach his potential within the next 3 years he will be a monster.  His only two caveats are heart and experience.  If he does what Bradley says and just focuses on defense he could be an asset even sooner.  Tony Wroten Jr could help right away spelling Bradley and Rondo, plus he could be traded later if needed.

The only real players worth drafting that will fall to us are SGs and SFs so we might as well get used to it.

And also insulted himself by saying Beal might be the great SG Orlando has been waiting for.

I laughed pretty loud when I read that. JJ Redick is gonna be a coach some day, and a good one.

Great idea for a feature.  Tony Wroten is fascinating: a part of me wants him as a weird TA/Rondo hybrid, but another part of me sees a smaller T-Will.

On the other thread people are saying we should trade 21, 22, and other players for Tyreke Evans.

Wroten is Evans with great passing skills as well. No need to give up the house for an older, more expensive, shorter version of Wroten.

Wroten is a two way player and a potential Rondo replacement. That alone should keep Rondo on the straight and narrow, or make it less devastating to deal him.

6'6" 19 y.o. combo guard who already has chemistry with Bradley?

Very enticing.

Wroten is not as good as Evans was in college. Evans lead his team on a tournament run, Wroten and Ross (probably a lottery pick) couldn't make it to the dance.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Wroten would be way cheaper, locked up for twice as long, and wouldn't require trading any assets.

Seriously.

That point is moot. Huskies were the best team in Pac12. Selection committee for one reason or another didn't select them.
